Do you think the argument is ever used here, ironically, as an absolute? As in, my theory is as equally valid as yours, without ever testing it in the lab, or any learning or effort on my behalf.

Discuss.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Why can't scientists ever seem to understand that once you measure something, you have changed it.  Refinement and repeatability are the recipe for white sugar and obesity.  Sure it's all relative to how much of it you eat, but HFCS never stops the hunger signal from gnawing at your gut.  More soda!  It cries out in the night insulin never getting released.

Or something like that.

Perhaps its just me being egocentric, but I'll admit i can't help but feel this is at least partly in response to my comments about how mental illness may actually lead to increased emotional development?

Alas, no, wasn't thinking of you.  I was thinking about how somebody could convey a mountain of evidence through experiences and experiments, written in their own words, and supply pertinent information to all the research studies they've read to back their reasoning up.

Yet somebody else could dismiss it all with a "you're not listening" and swipe some of their favorite pet conspiratorial essays and put quotes in bold as their response.  How one person can have a working hypothesis open to argument, the approximation of truth found by experimentation, and another can another can post the most stupid and ignorant theories and misrepresentations of facts as some sort of rebellion against blind authority, yet hypocritically justifying the need for more irrational authority for authority's sake, and their opinions amount to merely wanting to be the boss.

This incidentally reminded me of the "I invoke the theory of relativity, by the authority of Einstein, to prove that my ideas are as equally valid as anyone else's."

You've got a higher opinion of Internet users than I do if you thought anything was going to be different

Seems you have confused the sheeple scientists with a real truth seekers.  The real truth seekers aren't in some lab experimenting with double blinds on.  Blinders?  They don't want to be the boss, or to prove anything.

'Real Truth Seekers' sound more like 'Know Everythingers' to me - the lab is a place where scientists test out their favorite theories, because they realize they have more theories than facts.
