I know this topic has been discussed a million times but I have several cacti growing around my house and am wondering if they are San pedro or another psychoactive cactus, since they are known to be common in my state. Having been through many, many identification guides it is still hard to be 100% certain. I have a very high amount of respect for the cacti and would like to confirm my suspicion before making any cutting to experiment.

That IS san pedro.
If that's not on your property you should confirm with the owner before making any cutting to experiment. That'd show true respect for the pedro.

Thanks for your response 1234go. These cacti are actually on my property!! I've been living here for months and always questioned whether these could be psychoactive but was never certain. If you agree that these are San Pedro I'll definetly be taking a cutting to try out

Right ooonnn, apologies for the assumption... People come on here at least once a month with threads like these. And more so than not, they're poaching someone else's babies...it's a real bummer when that happens.
Cut away my friend. If I were you I'd take about 4 cuttings from that and get a little pedro forest in the making. Make sure the cuttings are at LEAST 8-12 in. 10-12 being better, otherwise you'll get tall skinny stalks.

Excellent advice and very much appreciated! I'll be sure to make my cuttings to those lengths or perhaps even longer. I'm a little concerned with the success I will have growing my first time and in the middle of winter, but it seems simple enough and pretty hard to screw up if done correctly.
Any other notes for success, suggested growing tek, recommended soil substrate please feel free to pass on, as there is A LOT of information to narrow down and experiment with for a begginers optimal cutting growth.

Some of the information needs to be updated and expanded upon but that method will get roots to strike on San Pedro and similar Trichocereus cactus, just like the title says.
