How long does it take a d/r pf cake to pin, on average?
    #2093827 - 11/11/03 09:07 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I have read all the info pertaining to pinning times for pf cakes. From what I gather, if the temp/humidity/light are right, it should take around one week. I have about 9 pf cakes that I cold shocked and then dunked and rolled. They have been in the terrarium since Saturday, at 75 F with about 90-95% humidity. I have been giving them ample light and fanning them about 4 times a day. So far they have grown somewhat fuzzy, but no pins as of yet. How long does it usually take for cubensis to pin using the pf, dunk and roll method? One week? How long is a maximum amount of time to expect my cakes to pin by?

There he goes, one of God's own prototypes--some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too wierd to live, too rare to die.

Pinning can take anywhere from a couple of days to two weeks. Keep your humidity over 95% and be patient. They'll pin when they're ready.

They will get all fuzzy, then in about 4-5 days they will start putting out little fingers that look like worms. These will turn into pins after about 4-5 days.

Good Luck!!!!
