G2G transfer

Wondering if a 90% colonized 1/2 pint is ok to do transfers to 5 more 1/2 pints of WBS. Should this be a concerned? Would letting the un colonized portions fall off the cake. Then crumble and transfer the solid parts the best idea?

I don't think you'll have any problems. Just make sure all the uncolonized substrate is off, for it is suspect to contams. The only major problems that occur with early birthing of cakes is that the uncolonized substrate/food can be fed off by contams which may grow within a casing or cake which is birthed prematurely.

i would wait till the wbs is fully colonized to make sure it isnt contamed. i would also recommend using pints instead of 1/2 pints for wbs, that way you can take advantage of the full benefits of shaking and whatnot. when it colonizes, you can shake it and see if it is contamed, because the contams will take hold at that time. i sure beats losing 5 more jars.
