Ever lasting Mycelium , Mycelium age question
    #2090447 - 11/10/03 09:23 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

Hi , apart from all my dumb and inexperienced casing questions id like to ask a little question kind of like mycocats one , about the mycelium , first id like to know if the myc dies ? meaning does it have a determined cycle , or does it die when there arent any more nutrients , so the thign is , when the casing is fruited a couple of times it dies , but the i was thinking , ok its fruitied  and its starting to get fucked up so i got it and crumbled it on straw and let it colonize the straw to the be colonized agian , is this ok? i mean will this myc be geneticli fuck up ? kind of like clonning some really old animal??  or , when the myc is given a new chanche to colonize  new food it restarts its cycle?

thx  i hope this works

There's a lot of life in that mycillium.
My friend has used old BRF cakes (3 flushes) to spawn straw treated with houshold bleach as described in the bulk growing section.

The bleach keeps contams at bay while the mycelium grows strong.
The log was pressed in a perferated two liter bottle and left in the open without problems. The fruits were much larger then the original BRF shrooms too.
