Spore print to master slant? 1

Hey guys,
I'm new to agar and would like to create some master slants to keep in storage. Just wondering if it's possible to inject/scrape spores directly into a clean master slant?

I'm actually a little confused about the different recipes, trying to figure out what I should order, I'm still new to agar and trying to learn as much as I can. I've got a bag of light malt extract, which I believe can be used in some recipes. Are you able to offer any advice?

Its possible, but why store MS genetics? Why sit on a gamble that you can start up at anytime with the spores; it seems the genetics at that point would be best preserved as a print. I'd recommend cloning something first, or creating an isolate, then storing that on a slant.
edit: just saw you have malt extract, lemme get u a recipe

Very bad advice above.
You never store spores in a master slant. You scrape spores on a plate and then isolate pure mycelium away from the contaminants. Then, you put it in a slant. Scraping spores into a slant would accomplish nothing even if it didn't contaminate. The print will last longer than the slant. RR

How is bad advice to suggest that he does not use spores for a master slant?

Culture slants are for the inoculation of known clean culture for the purposes of long term culture storage of said culture(s).
Petri dishes filled with nutritious, sterilized agar mediums are used to inoculate spores with to grow out the cultures we inoculate the culture slants with.
Inoculating master culture slants with spores defeats the purpose of master culture slants.

I haven't yet wrapped my head around isolation, cloning, etc.. still learning Are you suggesting to grow some mycelium on agar in a petri dish, isolate clean myc away from contams and transfer that myc to a master slant? are you able to explain cloning to me? thanks for the recipe man!

You want to clone mushroom tissue, so you know you have a starin that will actually fruit. And cloning one mushroom can still provide multiple sets of genetics. So when you clone a fruit to agar, the pattern growing out will not be perfectly round and symmetrical
Each variation in the radius of the myc signifies different genes so you then take a small clone of the agar to more agar. When you have a perfectly(more or less perfect) round circle growing out from the center than you can be fairly certain that you have an isolate

That is exactly what I'm gonna do. I went all out bough Malt Extract Agar Agar Yeast Karo light Corn Syrup for my Agar. I want it to be the best available to generate live cultures to isolate genetics to do aagar to grain Agar to substrate or whatever I'm very new but have studied for months before hand so any help or extra tips would be great. I have three all in one grow bags b+ GT one is a grain bag millet ect lighting fast Coloniser suppodly but I made the mistake of inoculating them with Mss no contams yet I'm 8 days in on one bag 7 on the other 6 on the last one. Then 3 days on the uncle Ben Tek but with organic Known to work Brands good success rate an I tried some of the great value dispote I cannot track the progress through bottom but others I can also both b+ an get I'm bound to have sucess one way or another I Sterilized everything in the area whole room rearranged everything days before prepped good 👍 I even installed a filter into the AirVent After Cleaning it With Soap Bleach then Iso 70% in the room a super thick one layered over to block contams in air cleaned ceiling an floors walls. So I'm hoping it Flourishes I Clean Regularly I'm a Clean Freak When it comes to this I Understand Contamination an particles very well . I got a monotub ready with PolyFill. I also have MicroPour but that was for Ben Tek. I have 5 tubs I can modify also. Btw the all in ones are 3lbs Each Individual. I got CocoCoir Bricks I Have Vermiculite I Have Gypsum I Have birdfeed Seed I have Brown arrive In Box bags to cook up for BrF Cakes I have plenty of pot Tupperware all sizes shapes bought petri Dishes Slants Pearlite I also have Oyster shells From The Ocean Probably Dirty though an I need to grind em up after being cleaned sterile idk how it works Yellow Popcorn Thermometers For Reptile tanks. An tank warmer if needed. Is there anything else I'm missing. Brewers yeast Agar Agar. Malt Extract Corn Syrup for the Agar Slants Master Slants I got popsicle Sticks I Bought. I will look ther recipe Tek you Referred thanks much love everyone I'm looking forward I feel in love with this hobby everything about it the nature The science behind it The Cycle of life an flushes Just how they are in nature is cool they collect an hold data before dieng transfer all of that to spores drop em die an come back again stronger or better possibly I just think it is all amazing an I Wana get deep into this stuff Been Studying g the History of it an all. Any ideas an tips for starter I'm all ears I take advice very well I follow through All the way I don't fuck around I have patience Young Grasshoppa For I Am The Great Master Grass Hopppahhh I been through all walks of life.
