Canadian prices kinda rape ya. Been thinking bout just ordering a few pounds of just agar. I can used so many different things for nutes but to have a good supply of lab grade would be nice. But food grade agar only costs me a $1.10 for 25 grams. I usually grab a dozen packets at a time.

I generally get raped on shipping when I order anything online. So I just buy things locally when I can.

No pour agar tek is what I used to do when I first began with this hobby, and working with agar, so yes, I can no-pour (if that's what you are asking).
These days though I prefer pouring plates and cutting sections in front of my flowhood, and out of petri dishes much, MUCH more than cutting sections out of those halfpint wide mouthed jars inside of a SAB

I use mix of both. I like using past plates for germinating spores or taking clones. That way I can save my petris for later transfers.

Currently, I use disposable, pre-sterilized, plastic petri dishes for everything. I use the 15mm X 100mm single section plates for spores and cloning pinheads onto/inside of, and I use the 3 section 15 X 100mm petri dishes for transfers.
I don't even have one single use for an SAB anymore. If I want to transfer away from any contaminates on agar to clean up a culture, I just use a clear plastic trash bag for that and toss it in the trash outside when finished.

How much water do I need for a 22qt pressure cooker? I used about 5 cups last night and all the water steamed out and melted all my mini rounds to nothing.

Fill the PC with water until the water level matches the top off the agar level in their containers. Pressure sterilize @ 15-18 psi for 40-45 minutes.

Anybody know how well agar breaks up in a sinks garbage disposal? I've stopped up my garbage disposal before and I don't look forward to ever doing that again, it was a bitch to get it unclogged.
Normally when I clean out agar plates I go outside and empty them into a garbage bag and then bring them back in to wash them, but I think it would go a lot faster if I could both empty the plates and wash them at the same time.
I would figure that running hot water down the drain would eventually melt the agar if it happened to cause a clog but I'd rather know for certain before committing 20+ agar rounds to the jaws of the sink monster.

Not very. I throw my agar outside if it's bad or just let it dry out in the trash otherwise. The cold water kinda keeps it solid and it may just stick there forever below the disposal blades.

I've ran almost all my plates down the disposal never had a problem. agar melts at 185F but it seems to chew it up. agar solidifies at 113F or so sort of a weird property of agar

i heat my agar up to melting point and dump it in a jug and water it down, then to the toilet. if not that i just pc them and dump them out

I just fill the top with water, scrape them out, and toss them in the sink with the garbage disposal on and hot water running. I've never had a problem and even if it slowed, I doubt it's something Drano can't fix.

Well if you do, obviously keep the blades running well before you drop the agar in. Should be fine that way. The scenario I mentioned I basically accidentally tiger-dropped my disposal without it running and running it after didn't do shit. Had to fish it out a week or two later.
