Exactly.

Mans prideful nature desires to be his own god which is exactly what the first lie of Satan to man was related to... Genesis 3:5. ?For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes will be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.?
The desire to be as God is the reason that Lucifer fell, and it should be no surprise that he should tempt man with the same temptation that seized his own heart.
Obviously see above posts for evidence this temptation continues.

No doubt! Satan himself has tricked me into desiring to be God! Everything I say shows through as Pure Evil! Doesn't the emoticon say it all?!
Peace.

You twist things.
There is often alot of truth in a lie.
Nobody said the things you said were pure evil. Way to get dramatic instead of discussing these things. You people were sure quick to jump on to Lightningfractal's little bible cut and paste.

Nope, actually.. we are loved, every one of us. Murderer, theif, adulterer.. etc.
None of us are beyond that love if only we accept it.
The only thing that can keep us from accepting it is pride.
That's my logic. Of course, you are more then welcome to disagree.

We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

And when did I say that anyone said the things I said were pure evil? The best way to figure out if someone else is making assumptions is to first stop making assumptions yourself.
Tell me what I should be discussing and I will discuss it. What do you want me to say? Peace.

Okay, I read the whole thread again. I didn't see much of anything that I feel I can discuss, except that who God really is, is relevant. I am God, you are God, we are all God, lad-dee-da. So one book says who God is and we are suspossed to take that for honest truth, right, because it says so in the thing?
The Mormon's book says the same thing. Any kid who has had a good trip on a psychadelic has probably met God as well. The crazy fucker locked up somewhere thinks he is God, the crazy fucker who isn't locked up and is posting on here thinks he is God. In addition to me being God, here is a list of other people and things that are God:
1. Maynard Keenan
2. Shroomism and Swami
3. Water
4. IN FLAMES, Opeth, and Symphony X
5. Odin
To say that any of these aren't God is the same as saying that the Christian God isn't God. There is just as much evidence towards all of them being God.
And, by the way, I didn't see one single person jump on Lightningfractals Bible quotes. I didn't see one person distastefully comment on his posting them. I actually welcomed the fact that he posted it.
Damn assumptions, once again... Peace.

Well, I thought Lucifer was the Bringer of Light. The one who gave us duality to act as a catalyst to our evolution. Hhhm... living in blissful ignorance... or knowing the Truth of all things. I don't see it as accident that the Jews and Christians took such a hard stance aganist Lucifer.
It is almost hard to even say the name Lucifer without bringing up all sorts of images tainting the name. Religious nuts looking for a scapegoat to blame for their followers questioning things and spreading all sorts of shit seems to have that effect... Peace.

Bingo! There existed a harmony where all were equal, and he desired to place himself higher than everyone else. He had pride against others, and was the first one to think he was better than everyone else. This same attitude runs rampant today in society.

Maybe he didn't have pride, though. Maybe he, as Logos, made the duality rule, the possibility for evil, because he saw how things weren't getting better with everyone living in complete ignorance. If everything is already perfect, than there is no reason to change, right?
Maybe he acted out of the whole hearted love for the Creation and its inhabitants. Anyways, I don't believe in the idea of some entity known as God and an entity known as Lucifer. I believe in Creation and the Creator... but the Creator IS Creation. Peace.

Pride makes you blind.
That's the only addition that I feel is really nessecary in this thread. It is a response to your subsequent responses. It is a tie with my original responses. It is applicable any way you slice it.
I hope one day, before it is too late, some can understand it.
As for Lucifer. He didnt want to be greater then God, he wanted to be like God, he wanted to be an equal, the chosen creation. He was basically pissed that God had created these humans in His image, that they superceeded the Angels.
He thought he was better. He thought he was enlightened.

?All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots spread out beneath you and worms cover you. How you have fallen from Heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, ?I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most high .? (Isaiah 14:11-14)
