That layer looks extremely thin.. 1/4 inch? That's probably why. Try a few inches of sub.

that casing looks very dry. how thick is the substrate and what is it? how thick is the casing layer and what is it? what did you use for humidity? did you get alot of aborts, or just not many pins to start? where did they get their light from?

Your casing is DRY!!!
I would recase.
After you recause here is what I would do. I would poak some drain holes in the bottom and soak it down. I would do this every 24 hours for three days. You should have a much better yield if you do that!

Well your casing looks very thin. It looks like a corner was cut out for contamination purposes, but yet I can see through other spots which makes the entire casing look way too thin. It looks but a 1/4 inch deep or less. What did you expect with a 1 cake casing, maybe 2. Not to mention the casing looks extremely dry. It should be dark in color in order for the moisture level to suffice. The whole casins works like a factory deriving moisture for growth from the environment. The casing container looks small and humidity must have been extremely low. Is that casing self contained? Or was it within a fruiting chamber? If it was within a chamber you need to midst it alot more or make it deeper.

the nthing is that it was inside a fruiting chamber , but it started sweating its moisture even though i misted like a fuker , i even injected water to it with a syringe , ok but my question is , would it be ok if cover it with a bit of chopped straw and then son 50/50 on top?

You might want to crumble it up with the straw and recase instead of just putting the straw on top. The thicker you can make it the better, idealy 4-6 inches. Not only will that provide for a stronger colony it will also help to retain moisture. Good luck. Be brave and recase

I'm with angry on this one. To the right middle, I see an area that looks like green. It's definitely dry as HELL, and WAY too thin. Looks like a thin slice of the casing I set outside (it had a questionable spot, so I moved it outside as a precaution) and forgot about for a week. Apparently green doesn't spread as fast or show as well when your casing is extremely dry. My shrooms continued to grow (they looked like yours when I finally remembered to check on it), but no new pins, the fruits had fallen over, and the questionable spot was still there. I plucked the shrooms, recased (my substrate was a good 2 inches or so) and give it a good misting. Next day, green was OBVIOUS and quickly spreading throughout the new casing material. I say ditch it and start over.

I don't really know anyone who grows mushrooms. I just come here for fun.

Well, it looks pretty thin and contaminted to me too. But a thin casing layer is not always bad. I've seen fungusmaximus get some decent  yields with 1/4th inch casing layer.
