first time harvest ?

a foaf has 3 cakes and one casing (verm only) and is now starting to see pins of about 1/2 inch. there are only 4 pins on the casing and 2 from the cakes. The questions are...Will the pins start to come at the same time or will the cakes/casing continue to pin within the next week? which leads me to the next question...when he decides to harvest, how will he know when to harvest if the shrooms are at differnt grow levels and when he does twist off the mushies, must he pick all of the shrooms to start the next flush or can he leave some that are still growing? Sorry if these are dumb questions but it is first time growing.

Let them all grow out, some pins will be a little slower than the first few. Pick them as the caps start to open individually. Any Teeni Weeni pins that have not grown when the harvest is complete, our are Aborts and can be harvested too!

i've read in the faq's that an average aim for cakes is 3-5 shrooms,so 2 is below average,it depends on individual conditions ie humidity and fresh air exchanges.
it also says its best to harvest all,over a 24 hr period,to each his own i guess.
some cakes don't even fruit at all and need a little help ie cold/shock/dunk.
