Yeah I think that helps letting things dry out a few times quick.

500 trichocereus bridgesii seeds planted camping out on a heated seedling mat! 5 new grafts including an impale graft!
So nice to get a dose of cacti in the winter!

Winter is creeping in here at last. A month later than usual, the greenhouse is near emptied and most cacti are moved to the garage. Trichs and some other cold-hardies have been left where they are.
Today was begun with a glass of blended peyote I'll recuperate later with a glorious garlic soup with ni-hachi soba noodles, which were freshly made after the liquid breakfast! Has been a fun day

Happy Birthday, Mostly_Harmless! I hope it's a good one and a few of the cactus decide to give you a show.

Damn I didn't know you had a birthday!
Happy Birthday Bro
It's been a long ass day for me. I've spent most of the day harvesting seeds that I had put up for awhile like my rustica, my own heirloom granddaddy peas and some Arisaema amurense (jack in the pulpit). I believe I've got a bit more different seeds than I can even comprehend growing next season.
I'll still do it because it allows me to be at peace
Also been planting some random cactus seedlings and putting succulent cuttings to root. Thanks dude (you know who you are)
I love EG folks

Thanks for the morning lols.
Anybody else have terrible luck with ariocarpus fissuratus germination? These things have been driving me crazy lately, everything else is germinating fine, I'm even getting acceptable rates from aztekiums, but I simply cannot get any A. fissuratus to germinate. Have tried GA-3, seed mat, no seed mat and am getting near 100% germination with other genera and even other ariocarpus, but A. fissuratus in particular is refusing to give me any seedlings. This has been with a few different vendors seeds even.

Can't help you there, I find Ariocarpus to be rather easy from seed (not the fastest, though). You must have had really bad luck with your seed, because that's all there's to it.

Thanks, I just saw that a vendor I've had good luck with in the past has it in stock, will keep trying till I get some.

Hey garden people.
Hope you're all well and the plants are pumping.
On a cactus odyssey at the moment. Stay tuned for a picture dump or two in the near future.
