Ah, I just put some colonized Wood Blewit mushroom spawn in with my mulched strawberry plants just the other day! It would be nice if it would fruit before the fall, but I'll just have to wait and see!
Good luck

Good luck
Thanks! I live in the midwest so I'll probably go with ovoids since they're native-ish, but IDK, might spring for something else.
I'm really stoked, though. This is my first time having space to grow a real honest to goodness garden for myself. I spent way too much at Lowe's on seeds for a large herb garden plus some peppers and such. I already have San Marzano tomato seeds germinated, need to plant in soil now. I want to be able to make my own pizza sauce this summer! I'm thinking about blueberry bushes to go with the strawberries but they sound a little more picky as far as ph and stuff so maybe that's for another year when I know what I'm doing a little better

No problem
Yeah man, I have a ton of stuff going right now too, just waiting to go outside!
I too, have been wanting some blueberries, but I have yet to buy any, because I think you need more than one plant to make fruit, and they are very expensive here.
I have an ovoid bed that is going on four years old, and last year it finally fruited, but I have major slug and snail problems, and they wiped them all out before I got to them

Bummer! Where I moved this fall has a ton of box elder everywhere including right outside my door and in a few nearby parks. I have woodchips fermenting in hopes that I'll just find some fruits and can start from stem butts, but I might just bite the bullet and source some genetics if I don't find any this spring.
My main goal with the strawberries though is fruit, not mushrooms, so to that end are yours in the ground or containers? If you grow in containers, have you noticed a difference in yield if you use individual pots vs. those strawberry pots with the pockets on the sides for multiple plants to share soil? Space is limited so I want to conserve it, but if packing them in like that will decrease individual yield it may not actually be much of a space saver.
I think there are self-pollinating blueberry plants, but most fruit is supposed to do better with multiple plants together even if they don't technically need it.

Cool man, good luck with your search
My main goal with my strawberries is fruit too, and I only threw the mushroom spawn in there because I had no where else to put it
I don't grow in containers, and all of my strawberries are out in the ground. I would say that nothing beats the ground with any fruit/vegetable yield size, so if you have a bit of space, then I'd just go that route
That is good news about the blueberries, and that's right, they do have self pollinating varieties, but I wont buy one here because they don't list if they are self fruitful or not, and I'm not taking the chance. I just can't afford to buy high priced plants.

Well, I’ve started the main experiment and I was going to start a thread about it but I made this account because I couldn’t remember my old one from years ago, and I don’t have permissions to reply in that forum. Oh well. This isn’t the place for the whole thing, but here’s a few pics anyway. Ive been potting stuff up tonight, mostly herbs, but three containers in particular got “stoned.”
ATL#7 lc on ~1/4 pint brf pucks (half filled wide mouth half pints). They aren’t all at 100%, but the ones I opened had stones and that’s what I was after. Planted stones separated from the pucks in soil mixed with 25-45% coir. One 8” pot with spearmint seeds, one with a fern, and then also a manure-based starter pot with sweet basil. They’ll all go outside pretty soon, and then we’ll see what happens. One goal is to minimize traces of grain products which may encourage inquisitive critters.
I have trouble getting the pics in order when posting from my phone so…whatever lol

Wild looking flowers, fox. Spent yesterday weeding and doing some general greenhouse maintenance, looking like a jungle in there already.

One of my favorite beds, added lots of peppers in there to fill in. Figs, guavas, kratom, khat, yopo, comfrey, roselle, yarrow, galangal.

Seed grown Mimosa tenuiflora starting to stretch.

I'm in USDA zone 9, barely even protect things in the winter. Have two greenhouses to run things year round, always seeding plants and grafting trees.
That big yopo (Anadenanthera peregrina) has been in the ground for about four years and is at least twenty feet tall.

Damn man, that is so awesome!
20 feet tall in only 4 years! That is quite the feat
I know I could do more with a greenhouse or two here. Maybe one day

I have an acre out in the country that I rent, lots of beehives, chickens, and large beds in the ground. This turmeric bed is blooming already, plants are getting big.

Just imported some fresh Luc's Mexican garcinia seeds. Anyone else growing any Garcinias? I've got achacha (Garcinia humilis), lemondrop mangosteen (Garcinia brasiliensis), imbe/African mangosteen (Garcinia livingstonei).

Yeah I saw the beehives, that is so awesome! I'm deathly allergic to bees, so that is something that sadly I'd never be able to do
That turmeric is huge brother, what the heck! You gotta be the healthiest guy on the planet
Good luck with the garcinia's, although I doubt that you'll need it

That turmeric bed is about 100 ft long by 30 ft wide, been in the ground and continuously harvested for five years. I grow a lot of different Zingiberaceae, they really thrive around here. Lots of different turmeric, ginger, galangal, cardamom, grains of paradise.
Never grown any Garcinia from seed, supposed to be very slow growing for a while.
I just picked up a stash of dragonfruit cuttings from a dude selling his whole collection, got about twenty varieties in there.

Been just over a week since I planted and all the trichs (save for terschekii) have started sprouting
They have been haunting my dreams - two nights in a row now that I've had visions of the tray becoming overrun with cobweb... glad I pasteurized prior to sowing.
Hey bro Have you experienced the Kimura's Spiny Giant x SS02 T. peruvianus "Serra Blue" x SS02 SS02 x T. huanucoensis SS02 cactus? Did it feel stronger than other cacti? was there any difference?

Excited about to have many many flowers from these morning glory vines.
Swim is excited to experiment with small 50 seed doses to see what light amounts of MG seeds are like.
I also want to see if the love I put into these while growing them is transmitted into the seeds.
I remember when growing salvia that the trips were distinctly different and more loving than when smoking something that was bought. I swear its like it knew i was growing it and was rewarding me with more meaningful experiences because of it.
I am curious if the morning glories will be the same way.
