I honestly hardly play any games right now, but I'd probably get into it if you started playing. Wait to get it til it goes on sale though. You could probably pick it up for like £1.

Yeah, I'll see if it's on Steam. Having physical copies of PC games is just annoying anyway.

No it's more sandbox style. There are bosses you have to go find to defeat and others you can make an object to summon them. Along with the creative minecraft style of building it's pretty awesome.

I bet playing it on dissociatives would be ridiculous. We'll have days set aside to aimlessly dig holes in-game while drooling everywhere from MXE, but then every other day of the week it's 12 hour shifts on speed literally dominating everyone in the world and making them never want to play again.
I bet the online mode is really lame and you can't kill people or anything, but hopefully not. I need to get King of Dragons on the SNES so I can finally kill skeleton warriors with a bow just like my dad always wanted me to.

Picked up this game during the summer sale and OMG I havent gotten so hooked on a game since Fallout New Vegas. I like this way better than minecraft due to the fact that I lack artistic creativity. Much more manageable on that aspect and the RPG element is fun too.
Why isn't there many newer games that are as fun as this???

i wanna play Terraria. it looks fuckin' awesome. but it's bit much for me. see how much time i give to gaming, right now...
i got FTL recently, and i'm gonna die alot in that. i'd rather have a game kill me, right now, than play a game infinitely forever, trying shit that never ends, essentially.
this ... is video games.
kinda blows my mind, how much video games have changed. -_-

Terraria seems like a really advanced internet browser game to me. At least you know yourself enough to stay away if you tweek. Worth more than any game that you pay $50+ for. Games just don't seem fun anymore. More marketed for profit rather than being fun.
I forgot, I also have an off and on addiction to Monster Hunter lol.

Not Monster Bash? I spent like three months trying to find that game based on fragmented memories and when I finally did it was fucking awful compared to how I remembered it.

I like this game so far but I wish it had joypad controls
I play games a lot and it's funny but i really prefer playing on the xbox one controller sometimes my hands are just too sore from playing other games/work
does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I have a furnace, anvil and workbench so far from either crafting or help

also if you put the game at 600x800 it totally looks like a SNES game and it's easier to play to boot

You could try hooking up a wired xbox controller to your computer and playing.
As far as what you should do, just keep exploring and you'll latch on to things you'll wanna do. Expanding your base will make you look for certain materials, wanting to explore new biomes will push the limits of how far you're willing to venture out, discovering dungeons will make you want to explore them and fight bosses. Just keep playing and have fun.
The first boss you should try and fight is the Eye of Cuthulu.

That wikipedia will be of help to you in that game, hah. Best of luck, and if you have any more questions, feel free to hit me up.

Been a while since I played but having a good pickaxe is pretty important. The best one you can make early on is the gold or platinum one (each world has one or the other, same for the other metals. They're all in pairs like that.) Dig down and explore though the caves. Sometimes you find these little rooms with treasure chests and a statue. The chests sometimes have good shit and certain statues can be wired to spawn monsters or NPCs (but you can't get the tools for wiring until later.)
Meteorite gear is better than gold/platinum, and if you make the full set of armor and the space gun then you can shoot the gun as much as you want without the energy meter running out. The meterorites just drop randomly every so often (there will be a dialog saying this) and you have to explore the surface to find them. You probably will get killed many times mining the meteorite ore, there are these things that come and attack you and touching the unmined ore sets you on fire unless you're in water.
There's a Terraria wiki that has info on all the gear, and how to make the bosses spawn that you need to beat to advance in the game. The meteorite gear and gun is enough to beat this flying skeleton guy in the dungeon, which is either at the far left or far right of the world. I think beating that unlocks the mechanic NPC. Then you can wire up some cool shit like traps.
