I blend mine within seconds of putting it in the water.

Lolol sorry that made me laugh! Hey pasty, how reliable is the micropore tape for you? I have been using polyfil but it is a pain in the ass and I just went and got a bunch of micropore tape.

Sweet, I'm going that route, I just switched to actual gladware. I had been using some cheap-o dollar store ones. They shat on me last run. The lids like were falling off haha. I gave up on them. Went and got myself the actual gladware and I'm making them now.

I thought that was LI? I was under the impression that some people just toss a wedge into water and let it do it's thing, similar to spores for LC. Maybe I misread something, haha.
Edit: grr, in my original post you quoted I meant to say for an LC. I know to blend ASAP for LI, but thought you could drop a wedge and let it do it's thing in an LC-environment (sterile water + Karo).

This is LI. The water isn't nutritious and the myc is already established.

I dropped mine into an LC mixture with Karo. I've made LI with sterile water and blended the agar wedge.
I swear I saw someone else just dropping agar into LC water and letting it hang out. Hmmm...

Congrats, Pasty. I haven't been here long, but that tag was clearly overdue and is super well deserved. Everyone knew you were a TC long before!

I put a small ball of poly fill under a layer of micropore tape to cover the GE hole on my past plates. Some of them have been threw at least a dozen runs.

That's exactly what I do. I stuff some poly in the hole, then I use scissors to cut the poofy ends of the poly so it's not so fluffy, then cover it with the micropore. Seems to work great.

anyone using sfd's on these and having them dry out faster than usual? I'm thinking that i may need more filter maybe another layer of sfd? Or should i just stick with the micro-pore tape?

Are they drying out in the fridge? I always bag plates and pp5's in ziploc before putting them in the fridge as they are notorious for drying things out.

That could do it, were you having condensation issues?
