Usually after a three day freeze that means the end, whatever was pinning before the freeze will come up but then that is usually it for the season here in Seattle.
Maybe a few blue ringers in some lawns but the main crops are gone.

Not sure about Seattle but usually we get extended periods of warm rain in winter down here in Oregon. Particularly to watch for is the event they call "Pinapple express" where warm air and moisture comes streaming in from the tropics and it's raining at 60 degrees or better. I've seen "dead" previously frozen beds of cyans recover nicely and go nuts fruiting after such an event. Non-active edibles too will often recover and have a second (usually short) season. MMMM chantrelles. We need WARM rain (55-65F)!

It's supposed to be raining all next week, it even rained a bit today. There will be plenty more cyan picking this season.

We had several freezing nights last season and the Cyans continued to bloom until March of this year.
In fact, cardboard has a photo of a cyan with snow partially covering it.
I think things will be fruiting nicely once we get some decent rain again.

I think they are gonna pop like mad. I dont think this is gonna be the year for huge open woodchip patches but spots with decent protection will be popping with force after these cold nights.

so would you go shroom hunting during the rain?... i was going to go shroom hunting during a drizzle right after a rain that went on and off for about 24 hours... i think it was perfect weather maybe maybe not...but they ahd neibors that wouldn't goto sleep and some other neibors had a high powered flashlight yelling things... it was probably worth the risk but my friend driving the car was like screw this and we left.. did i miss my chance? if i did i'm sure another rain will come again

Don't be a dork and tresspass when shroom hunting. Its a great way to get busted. There are pleanty of wood chip shrooms that you can find either on the edge of someones property or in public places. If you see some shrooms in someones front yard and you can reach them with out having to take more than a few steps into their yard then most people probably won't notice or call the police if they do notice. Even then it would probably be a good idea to leave the area affter you grab the mushrooms. However, if you are jumping fences or in peoples back yards your begging to get arrested or even get a chest full of buck shot.

Ok guys. It was cold for 5 days below freezeing but it was coverd by snow the whole time then the snow melted and warmed p and it rained tonight, So season over for me? Cause my science teacher said the snow keeps the ground warmer then colder. unless the snow is around for 3-4 weeks. so. just wondering.
