The jar developed normal growth spots at the inoc spots but didn't grow very fast at all. When the spots got to be about quarter sized, what appeared to be mycelium clouded the substrate from the inside of the cake. Where this new white stuff met the inoculation spots, the quarter sized spots developed yellow halos. I had hoped early on that the myc had just decided to colonize the inside of the cake and then the outside but this does not appear to be the case. The smell coming from the jar is musty but not quite the familiar musty smell of shroom myc. Oh, and it isn't grey at all, it's white as snow and it's puffing up like myc but it never appeared ropy like myc. Is it possible that this is another mushroom type that somehow got mixed up in my brf/verm mix?
