Have a question about 2 Strains...

I have 2 different strains I am interested in purchasing and have 2 questions about each...If you only know about 1 please respond anyways...
B+: 1. Is the thin stretchy gelatin layer found around the cap...edible? 2. Potency?
Golden Teacher:(I think they are the ones with a big, reddish cap and white dots) 1. Can those be grown in brown rice flour with vermiculite? Or only manure or dung? 2. Potency?
If it would help to see the scientific name I can provide it...Please give info if you have grown either of these strains...I am interested in hearing about your thoughts. Thank you AIC

B+ 1. I assume you are talking about the pellicle, and yes it is edible 2. I am not sure, but I would either guess very little potency
GT: 1) Yes, it works in the standard PF tek outline 2) Good

if by that, you mean this - then i think you've got something mixed up... those are amanita muscaria mushrooms, not psilocybes. golden teachers look like this - http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Growlog&Number=1981264

Seven grams dry seems like a pretty high does for any strain. You'd get quite a trip from taking that much from any strain, wouldn't you?

I am with MycoCat- 7 grams is alot...I usually eat an 3.5 and I am fucked up...
starseed: you are correct I was mistaken...are those amanita muscaria easy to grow? could they be grown in PF tek?
What are the most potent mushrooms to buy???(I already have chosen Puerto Ricans as most potent that I have ever tried)
Thanks again for all of your replies and help... AIC

Amanita Muscaria = wood loving species (me thinks)
Azures are pretty potent.
I agree 7 grams dry is huge amount. If 3.5 grams can't send me into upper level trip I wouldn't think too highly of the potency.

Uh, I know some people like Fly Agarics(Amnita Muscaria), but IMO, stay away.

I belive it will be really hard to grow fly agarics inside. They are mostly grown outdoors from all the years of research ive never seen anyone grow it indoors...but if you wanna experiment and have fun then go ahead.

amanita's arnt really a hallucinogen so much as a deliriant. id rather trip than not be able to understand anything. amanita's need to grow with other plants (pine trees?), and nobody has proven that it can be done indoors (although there is some rumors from europe that its been done). azures are extremely hard to cultivate, unless you have access to outdoors, where there still very hard to cultivate. creepers are good and potent, malabars are cool lookin, treasure coast....i dunno.

thanks angryjslice...good info...The reason I wanted the Malabars was all for looks...I have it narrowed down to:
Creepers Puerto Ricans and maybe Malabars
I got 2 more questions and then I will leave yall alone: What about Tazmanians? And is it a bad idea to grow different strains at the same time? Thanks for all your help! AIC

Puerto Ricans are probably not the best strain for a newb. Go with the Creepers or Malabars IMOA. You will be very pleased with either. Tazmanians are great too, although I've never tried growing them on pf cakes. >>And is it a bad idea to grow different strains at the same time? No, just not in the same jar. Different strains in the same terrarium is fine.

thanks Demiurge...haha...I wish I would have known about Puerto Ricans being for the more advanced...My first attempt was with these and I only got 2 mushies out of 2 syringes...pretty bad but those babies sure did make me trip balls!!! My problem was I rushed into it and did not use the proper procedures(sterilization, etc.)
Any other opinions? Personal experiences with any of these strains? AIC
