what's the use of having something trippy to do while on shrooms...?
you can get so much more out of sitting outside somewhere and talking with you friends. the conversations are incredible, you share things never thought possible with them, and you are better for it.

what do you get out of watching the Matrix while high on mushrooms?
something to talk about the next day...period
put down your trip toys too like that rubber ball that makes really crazy noises when you bounce it, surrender yourself to the void


so go outside, walk around, especially a forest or remote corner where not many people go and let go of it all.

one suggestion: this is something that i always do with my friends is putting paint on our faces and bodies to look like indians. it's a tribal thing i guess and it's part of the bonding process before the shrooms kick in.

I agree with you, but I don't care if other people like to watch trippy movies while tripping. Each his own trip.

I like to have something to play with in the come-up and I have turned on the TV once when I got some bad vibes because the doorbell rung while peaking, not funny! I've never seen a movie while tripping, that's just a waste of trip-time IMO.

my style is to watch the trippy movie BEFORE i'm tripping. Then if its themes come up in my trip, great. If not, there's always something else in its place. TV invariably makes me less fucked up (except for the animatrix, but that only worked once)

The way I look at it... if I can't be outside while I'm tripping I might as well not trip at all. Being confined in-doors watching TV is the last thing I want to be doing. BUT, I do have to admit, sometimes, after taking long walks and I venture back inside to go to the bathroom or to get a drink... sometimes the TV sucks me in and I end up spending the remainder of my trip trying to figure out "I Love Lucy" or some infomercial.

i agree for the most part, outside is the way to go...so much more possibilities

but, i find it fun sometimes to sit down and watch a movie... alice in wonderland was really funny. i like it as a kick back way to converse with friends, usually on mild doses. kind of a change of pace in a way, but even on these trips i find myself leaving the room for a while to go venture outdoors

On a good dose of lsd or mushrooms, my thoughts are usually moving to fast and im too high to even understand tv.

I tried to watch family guy on lsd the other weekend. It was very strange and i had no clue of the story line even tho id seen that episode before.

I agree with you Fritz, soo much! When on shrooms i feel connected to the earth, chilling with my friends and being in nature while tripping has been some of the most memorable moments in my life. I dont like looking at a box when im on shrooms. Peace.

i remember trying to watch CNN on lsd. everything they were talking about seemed so damn important. all they were talking about was kmart going out of business or somthing. it seemed so horribly important as i watched it.
then i once tried watching momento on an 8th of mushrooms. that movie just trapped my mind and wouldn't let me have it back untill i got the hell outta that basement. so i argee with whoever started this thread, the television and tripping dont really make for an enjoyable experiance. it can be fun turning on the tv and trying to understand pop culture for a few minuets, but walking through the park is really where the most fun can be had.

You seem to forget that not everyone has direct access to nature. We don't all live near the woods or pretty lakes and whatnot. When the choice is between tripping inside and watching a movie or going outside and watching a busy street then sometimes being inside is better.

I'm lucky I live right in front of a big field with plethora of woods. Being outside makes the trip so much more real. It makes you really appreciate what God has gave us. Although sometimes I do like to watch trippy movies on the comeup. Like one of my last trips for instance, I was watching lord of the ring and It was really intense asmy trip started in, kinda scary too tho lol. Anyways yea outdoors is the place to be.

well said Fritz, I strongly agree with you. My first 4 mushroom trips were in complete darkness in my room, with no distractions, and high doses. Thats when you really start to learn.

i agree with yuo guys totaly on this. i like to be out and about when i am triping. Only 2 have i watched t.v. or movies while tripping and that was when i was comming down(the movies were "In the mouth of madness" and "The doors").oh and it's great to see that other people shroom by themselves. I try telling my friends that you learn so much about yourself and i can just see by the look on their faces that they think i am crazy.

yeah it's funny whenever i trip a lot of the stuff deemed "trippy" by sober-minded folk just seems straight up stupid. You can totally see past any "trippyness" and just see the fakeness of it all. Like tv... fuck tv... whenever i trip the acting is just completely unbelieveable, the makeup stands out like stabwounds, and it's just completely impossible to follow the story. one thing me and my friends do though is to make "soundtracks" for the tv. We pop in a cd, mute the tv, and tell ourselves the people on tv are playing the music somehow... works awesome with the arts channel. it's usually friggin hilarious in one way or another... try it. friggin hilarious. you can sometimes get shit that goes together perfectly that will blow your head... that's about as fun as the tv can get during a trip.
