have you guys ever used cardboard fer innoculation? I'm gunna try that and I also got some maple shavings that I soaked over night,that I'm gunna try. Someone told me that the shavings wouldn't werk well. I guess I'm just gunna experiment.

Use a myco bag to do innoculation. Then use maple shavings and chips for fruiting outdoors. Best to throw lots of spawn plugs in the chips.

shred some egg cartons in a blender .
you can use this in place of vermiculite to make pf cakes .
then spawn to wood chips .
maple shavings will colonize, but not fruit well .

I've had great luck expanding cyanescens and azurescens mycelium using the kaytee aspen shavings, sold as pet bedding. As said before, it is abysmal fruiting substrate, but I really can't say enough good about it for growing up mycelium. Every time I've tried it, it was with birdseed spawn, and worked by only simmering the shavings and letting them soak overnight:



The real trick to getting them to fruit [other than living in the right conditions] is finding the right woodchip material and woodchip size to spawn with this material. That's been the stumbling block for me every time.

glad to hear that some others are expereminting with Ps. Cyan.
I am curently trying a agar to grain to shredded cardboard, wood chip tec. The growth took over the shredded cardboard very quickley.
