Had some herbal tea with eleuthero today. Looked into it, the health benefits are great. Definitely adding that to my usual rotation, I highly suggest it to everyone else as well.

Me and my girl probably have 100 different kinds of tea in house.  My favorite is just peppermint.  Its even better if you add white chocolate and a few red peppercorns.

Oh yeah I forgot.  Matcha is my all time favorite.  I like to make milkshakes with it.

Thanks for teaching me about a great new product. I've been researching it in these past few minutes and it is for sure something I'm going to try

I've been drinking matcha almost daily for 8 or 9 months.

Between the l theanine and antioxidants, I feel pretty good.
It's nice knowing I'm doing something for my longevity for once.

Some people say it's bitter but my shit is fine. Just tastes like strong green tea.

I think I'm going to try adding matcha green tea powder in with bananas and blueberries to make a smoothie

The only thing I should mention is the first few times you do it, if you take too much it can make you nauseous. I thought the dosing on the can was just some bullshit and I ended up vomiting. It only happened the once though and I don't have any issues at all now regardless of how much I use. It would likely be different in a smoothie. Maybe.

I'm not 100% sure if it's the l theanine or the antioxidant content, but I'm leaning towards the antioxidants considering I used l theanine in pills for a while to no ill effects. Aside from drowsiness.

A double scoop of matcha is equal in caffeine to a regular coffee.  Indeed you can get nausea if you make it too strong, I've done that too.  Bitter matcha means it was low quality,  high quality matcha is made with only the best new growth leaves and has been de-stemmed and de-veigned.  It should be reasonably sweet.    There's a huge tradition of drinking matcha in Japan and china which is cool bit I just think its healthy and tastes good!  Seriously though, make a milkshake with it!  Best thing ever.

Do you drink/eat the powdered matcha or do you strain it?

It definitely is just as strong as coffee but I find it has a nicer edge to it and it lasts longer as well as rolls off easier. Probably from the antioxidants. I love how healthy it is too. Once I get in to growing mushrooms I want to grow my own edibles as well. Reishi and chaga come to mind.

The benefits of matcha are largely due to consuming the plant material. The tea is not prepared like you'd expect. It's basically just a scoop or two in hot water. Stir it up and drink it.

You drink the powder in the tea, no straining or bags.  Thats what makes it so high in caffeine and antioxidants.    Some people think it has additional lasting stimulant effects besides the caffeine... Im not sure I agree though, maybe its just that it takes longer to digest and release the caffeine than coffee.

^^ Thanks for clarifying, fellas. I'm adding this to my Christmas wish-list. I'm proud of myself for taking supplements every day for my health. Green Tea is one of the changes I've made to enrich a healthy lifestyle

You could take it as a supplement if you wanted. It's perfect for that. You'd just have to put it in capsules.

Make sure to get matcha not green tea powder.  Also quality makes a difference,  last time I bought cheap stuff it was really bitter.
