I have a bag of matcha, but I don't know what to do with it.  I got upsold on it I dont know how to make it.

Right now I am sipping on some yerba mate trying to motivate myself to make breakfast.

You add it to hot water and stir it briskly. They make a special split bamboo whisk for doing it, but you can use a fork or spoon. You just have to stir the shit out of it so it doesn't clump up, and keep stirring it as you drink it.

I'd start with a teaspoon per mug and you can adjust from there according to your taste preference.

I've been doing coffee for breakfast these days just because my housemate makes coffee in the morning and I can't resist. I used to always drink tea for breakfast though.

I like coffee in the mornings as well, but I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Cheap stuff makes my stomach hurt something awful. There are some really nice English breakfast teas, though. Add some milk and sugar, you got a great start to your day.

Someone accidentally bought decaf coffee for the house and I need my caffeine in the morning. I've been steeping in this caramel vanilla black tea that really gives the coffee a great flavor and gives it that boost I need. I work with what I have.

QFT

It's quite bitter. I've gotten used to drinking it plain, but also enjoy adding a bit of honey & almond milk.

TheMovement, if you don't want it you can send to me. :tongue2:

Whoops I didn't catch that. Yes they have it caffeinated. It really is worth trying, flowery & aromatic.

Twinnings, stash, and tazo are SUPER cheap, bad quality teas.

I buy my ceremony grade matcha from Ryu Mei

As for tea bagged tea, I get kroger's generic brand. It's good and has a relatively high amount of caffeine.

Also, if you drink tea (when I say tea, I mean anything from the camelia sinensis plant, which is white, green black, and oolong teas.) do NOT mix it with dairy milk. Dairy has a protein called "casein" which binds onto certain antioxidant in tea called "cetachin" and prevents it from being absorbed into your body.  You really shouldn't drink dairy until about 5 hours AFTER you have had anything with antioxidants like blueberries or tea.

I got some gunpowder green tea from a japanese coworker. She said it was expensive. It tastes SO FUCKING GOOD. I like my tea strong so I use 2 tablespoons for 8 ounces of water. The second brew it always stronger. It tastes like strong white tea. Very delicate and light flavor.

I'm surprised Zombi3 didn't get in on this thread. That guy really gives a fuck about teas.
