Straw in a laundry basket

Im basically going to show you what im doing and you guys tell me if I can improve anything
1. I started cloning a nice fruit from the store to agar (as seen in this thread).
2. I then colonized two quarts of wbs. (they are both 100% colonized. jar on the right has been broken up)

3. I then obtained some straw and pasteurized according to RR's method.(soaked in hot dish soapy water for 2 hours then proceeded to pasteurize at 150'ish F for 90 min)

4. After allowing to cool and drain for 2-3 hours, i started to spawn to the straw in layers.

5. I then trimmed the sides of the basket to make it semi-uniform.

6. Then put basket in a white/clear garbage bag with many holes and put two flat cement pieces on top for compression.

7. I placed it somewhere elevated and safe in my backyard. Where I left it, im expecting it to get 3-5 hours of sunlight in the morning. I dont know if this is such a good thing so i may move it. Ive read oysters like a lot of light.
11/30 Update

12/2 Update Wondering when it would be wise to harvest these...? They are much smaller than the fruit I cloned, also caps are darker. Maybe they aren't finished...

Just when I was getting bummed these were the only mushrooms growing on the basket

You don't want any sunlight until full colonization. It doesn't have to be in the dark, but get it into a shady spot. Good luck! RR

Wouldn't doubt your success based on how much dang spawn you are adding to each layer. That's gotta be like 25-30% spawn rate.
You pull it off and your are going to have lots of mushrooms. Good luck!!

Moved it out of direct sunlight this morning. Thanks for the reply RR. You're awesome.

Thank you as well. Hoping it will colonize closer to one week than two. I also made sure not to let the grain be too near the edges. Im feelin good about this one

Got home from work tonight around 10 pm. Checked on the basket and to my surprise, pins!

It didnt fully colonize the top outside edges of the baskets, nor the sides in general. It had dried out a bit, so I watered it a few days ago. Dont know if I shouldnt have done that, but I did .
I plan on taking better pictures tomorrow when its light out.

Gets down to the low-mid 40's at night and around 65-75 during the days.
Right now 58 degrees and rainy.
