Pan. Cyan spores on MYA

About 8 days ago, I mixed up some MYA (Malt Extract Yeast Agar) and poured it into dishes. I then inoculated these with some Psilocybe azurescens and Panaeolus cyanescens spores. The P. azurescens spores have taken off and there are many small cultures forming in the dishes. The Pan. cyanescens on the other hand doesn't seem to be doing much. There is one dish with one big spot that I suspect is a mold but I'm waiting to see (yes, I've separated it from the others). Otherwise I see nothing on some dishes and just hints of what looks like plaque from teeth on a few other dishes. Does Pan. cyanescens just take forever to germinate from spores on agar or was MYA a bad choice for an agar medium? I can always buy more spores and try again if this fails but I'm wondering if I did something wrong or if I'm just impatient. Here is a pic of the Pan. cyanescens dishes with the growth that I think is mold (and yes I could be incorrect - let me know if you think I am):

and here is a pic of one of the other Pan. cyanescens dishes that looks more like tooth tartar/plaque:

top pic looks to perfect to be what your after and all you can really do is wait to see if your spores were viable, the recipe is not your problem..if it isnt' contaminating just give it some time

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn I'm tired do me a favor

Exactly what I thought about the top pic. Something just doesn't seem right about it. Plus it seems to have some color to it...which isn't right. Time I have more of so I can always see what happens. Worst case is I end up pitching them and need to pick up more spores. That's not all that bad (but it sucks to lose the work I put into them).

Yeah I actually did 10 of each species. I had a spore syringe and put about 1 cc onto each plate. I can't remember where I saw this technique (RR or Stamets) but it has worked for me in the past. For some reason, I haven't had much luck with using a spore syringe directly on rye grain. Liquid culture works fine for me...spores not so much. So I've been using agar first. I have had luck with a spore syringe using the PF tek but I have been using rye for gourmets and I prefer it.

Yeah you're right. There was more water in there than needed. In the future I will probably use just a drop or two per plate and then put the rest in rye jars (although I haven't had much luck with those straight from spores). Thanks!! Your input has been helpful.

Right. That one is probably going to get thrown out. I'm just giving it a little longer just in case. It doesn't look like mycelium to me though.
