As I said, drunk driving laws prohibit certain activities while intoxicated. They have nothing to do with what one may consume.

they could also pass laws against stoned driving i guess then.

or maybe operating heavy machinery while stoned.

and against being stoned around your kids maybe.

or being stoned in public.

or stoned during the daytime...

stoned on sunday...

exactly mushmaster.

silver--my point about with the whole drunken driving thing was just that it should include something about your intoxication not presenting a clear and present danger to others. i understand its not like it was a final draft though.

They could pass laws against being stoned in public, sure. They already have a law about public drunkenness. But I'm fairly certain my ammendment would protect people from laws against being intoxicated on their own private property. And it also mentions possession, which IMO is the more important part of it.

maybe i'm misunderstanding you.

your proposed ammendment says nothing about production or sale.

Well, I would include the possession of plants(i.e. cultivation) under possession. As for sale, I think that my ammendment, while not permitting sale, opens the door for that.

Possible Amendments I've considered:

Direct Election of the President
Proportional Representation
Extending Civil Rights to Sexual Orientation

1. The people hold all the power, forever. No government except to decide what school lunches will be and to make important decisions, like who gets the last piece of cherry pie. If the citizens want to revolt, that's cool too. Viva la Revolution@!

Interesting idea, but not well articulated, I'm afraid.

campaign finance reform consisting of a couple
different requirements.

1. no corporate soft or hard monies allowed

2. limit PAC and NGO donations

3. create public television channel (cspan3) and
public radio station that provide equal airtime,
free of charge, to all candidates.

4. instant run off elections unless candidate captures
considerable percentage in first election.

money is rotting our government from the inside
out like gangrene.

we need a return of the average man to politics instead
of these millionaire, career politicians so entrenched
in political favors and favoritism for the sake of the almighty
dollar.

Supreme court justices and other federal judges would be subject to a judicial retention election similar to those used in some states. They would still be nominated by the POTUS and confirmed by the Senate, but the electorate would be given the opportunity to remove the likes of Antonin "Light-fingers" Scalia, say at 10-year intervals.

that's a good idea too.

the life-long term of a supreme court
justice is just frightening.

people are not forever infallible.

Unfortunately, ppl would prolly not use it, since hardly anyone ever votes in the state retention elections.
