Foe me I've found a spiritual element to my bouts of depression. If you don't feel like engaging with the world then you're probably less attached to it, at least at the time.
DA similar. The finality and absoluteness of death has meant that all the time I have spent thinking about it has created a certain level of non-attachment.
Have you thought about going out like Huxley, on LSD or similar?

The final lights out aspect doesn't scare me, but getting there does - particularly becoming an irritable curmudgeon unable to focus on anything other than physical discomfort for what could be a long haul seems like a fairly likely possibility for me due to how I cope with pain at the present. I think your wit and humor, desire for good conversation (about D.A. or whatever), music, etc. are your character attributes that stave off being all wrapped up in D.A., however it manifests for you.

Great pic btw, got any of yourself when you were at your new age-flakiest?

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence. I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too. If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

I've put serious thought into my dilemma. Once again i find myself on the middle path. I will work at finding a treatment and working the angles, this includes doc treatments and tests, diet, meditation, body work, etc. on the condition that I'm enjoying the process and have no serious ethical or physical considerations against. Even if that means my death. My main goal here is to not do any action out of fear. This will I believe allow me to continue with my basic openess and also allow me to calmly (calmer) prepare for dying if no treatment success is achieved. I will focus seriously on pain control and maintaining a tolerable quality of life.
If it doesn't work one day I won't be posting and I'll be gone. I won't tell anyone because of course life and death is a private matter. So this thread is my goodbye if goodbye it is to be. It's been such and honor to be here among such a motley crew of misfits. Much love to you all.

You've been a big part of my time at the forum Icelander and you've certainly influenced how i approach truth, i feel like i'm more ruthless and head on about it, it can't just be a mental philosophy, some kind of make belief comfort blanket, you also made me often reconsider how to talk about this stuff as you've heard it all before
It's been quite a few years and we used to debate a fair bit back when this was the Philosphy & Spirituality forum, we don't interact much these days but in my view you're just as much if not more a part of how i see this forum as when we were going at it
After all these years i noticed a change in your posts recently, i don't think you're going anywhere soon but i wish you all the best all the time

I've thought about a last MDMA voyage but the way I'm feeling I might not need it.
