I think it's usually all the pure cane sugar that is in rum that causes the nasty hangover, not necessarily the spices - though I may be wrong in that. Cost doesn't necessarily equate with quality either, however some more expensive stuff can definitely be better no doubt.
I read an article about this alcohol brand that took their cheap vodka, put it in a new bottle and raised the price to over $100 per bottle (where it was under $10 before) and then sold many times more bottles than they had in any year previously. Interesting how that works sometimes.
Though that stuff you posted does look good. Doesn't look too heavy, sure it mixes nice.
We are so prejudiced towards quality, that in fact only 11% of our initial cane juice becomes bottled cachaça. There are 8 major steps we go through to make our cachaça… and they all involve many human hands and very little machinery. Take a look at the video to the left.
Sounds perfect for Halloween. They use real human hands!

My favorite rum ever is Ron Del Barillito, it's from Puerto Rico. I'm not sure if you can buy it online but it's some damn good rum
