Is anyone here familiar enough with cube varities to differentiate them?

Basically im asking because i ended up with one cake left between two strains: texas yellow cap and roatan honduras. I would like to know if someone can tell these apart for me just by looking so i can label my spore prints properly. i forgot to label my SGFC with what strain the single cake was.
pics in a sec

nope, it's a best guess scenario unless you're growing cubes with mutations like albinism or penis shapes.
they look like B+ GT cambodia hawaii texas mountain orissa columbia costa rica ecuador treasure cost shrooms

just out of curiosity, any chance this could be accomplished with a microscope? and the knowledge of course.

the big guy has bruised fuzzy feet. and also should be picked now. what does your sgfc look like, if you don't mind me askin
this happened to me once, and IIRC it was because I had bad FAE

yeah i know it saddened me. i picked it right after the picture.
Its a little off, i just measured with a ruler put dots everywhere and drilled im pretty sure, it was a while ago but i know it doesnt look like it was made by a machine like some peoples.
It has to be FAE but i fan and mist alot although i slacked yesterday so maybe.
Also having three trays in your SGFC and one cake makes it kinda difficult to give the cake the misting it likes over the trays know what i mean?

fanning is not a replacement for FAE. you can only get it with proper sgfc design.

i know that but it helps with evaporation, but i see what your saying. im not saying its improper, because ive done grows without fuzzy feet but it happens sometimes depending on where i have my sgfc and a couple cracks when i drilled etc. it just looks ghetto man.
im using wide half pints to elevate it so maybe i should get it off the floor a bit

you should have it on a table, elevated with jar lids. just elevated off the floor is bad form for sgfc.

Texas yellow cap usually have a brighter orange yellow on the top of the cap that looks like one solid color.

I remember reading somewhere that cubes north of the equator tend to have slightly larger spores. Not sure how accurate that is tho.

Yes, granted yours won't look just like mine in color its an example. In fact there is a texas mushroom thread with more yellow cap pictures for reference. Here
