my cakes have been in my pmp for 8 days now and theyre not pinning yet. that doesnt bother me but what does is that in one weeks time im going away for a week. if theyre pinning/fruiting by the time i leave what am i going to do? if i harvest anything there a day before i leave and then dunk them and put them back in the pmp it should be fine and ready to pick when i get back right?

If they're just starting to pin when you leave then just let them be and you will have fruits when you get back. They may be a little overmature by then, but they shouldn't be rotting or anything after only a week. If you have partially developed fruits though, you should pick them before you leave or they will be rotting by the time you get back. The safest way would be to just pick everything and then dunk before you leave, but it would be a shame to rip up a perfectly good first flush if it is just starting to pin. It may take the whole week for it to recover from a good dunk.
