Terrarium automation projects

I'd like to put all my work into the public domain, regarding how to use microcontrollers or computers to automate terrariums.
Within the scope of this "lecture", an "automation" project will be defined as any device which allows one unattended monitoring/control of any parameters in an environment. This kind of thing has uses in horticulture, mycology, or any other scenario where one desires to monitor/control an environment parameter using sensors and controls on devices influencing these parameters.
I'll be adding more as time permits. The next thread will contain all of the source code, and I'll add to this first post and subsequent posts using the source as a guide, to help you build one if you so care to.
Disclaimer: this is a "novel device" for a niche use. You'd probably never *need* it growing your garden-variety plants that don't call for such specific conditions. It's my hope that someone will at least get some use out of the work I put into this project so many years ago.

I for 1 am very interested! Just started my research into this area, looking to eventually monitor and control 3 incubation spaces(heat) and 1 large/ish fruiting space(heat, light at different heights,CO2 and humidity) but cost and time are big issues along with a serious lack of knowledge so I'll be starting simple.

Thanks for sharing Poke! Pretty damn fascinating concept.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free
