not a DAMN thing. get over it

:oogle: Well, excuse me.  I didn't mean to hit is soft spot.  Let me explain a little further into why i think that it should have been moderated:

What happens when people argue about religion?  It gets out of hand right? Cuz no one is going to change their views or what they believe in.  In my opinion, i dont feel that religion is a very good idea to be brought up in a forum like this.  My bad.  Sorry for stating my opinion.  How bout i just don't from now on?

EDIT: Do we get a choice in the matter about who mods here and who doesn't?  :oogle:  I'd like to give my two cents.

stop it both of you! or ill put you both in time out!

syko, many people find alot of comfort in getting close to a "god" and that is fine and i believe that though it doesnt work for me, it may for others....i think that religion should be a topic of discussion here as well, seeing how it has helped so many through their hard times.

as long as it doesnt get out of hand, i think we are ok....and nothing was said here to make me believe that any rules of the forum have been broken....

i do agree with you on the potential of religion starting some bickering, but until that happens i think we should be open to all forms of support, even the spiritual ones

I believe that whatever makes you happy, do it. Whether it be religion or anything else you decide to do in your life. But here we go. Since we are talking about religion, i'm gonna put in my two cents and give you a good example as to why i dont think 'conform and repent your sins' is a good piece of advice to be given here in Support.

I'm Wiccan. It's not a religion to me, it's a state of mind. Some of you know, some of you dont. I'm sure that since i've said that, to those who didn't know, you will automatically judge me now. Usually for the worst. Yes, i'm generalizing pretty bad but i do so because that is how 98% of the people i have told have reacted. In a negative way. I believe what it all boils down to, is that we all believe in ONE thing. I believe in energy and the power it holds. We all believe in the same damn thing, the only difference is that we have different names for it. I'm against people who 'sell' their religion, so perhaps that's why i remarked the way i did. Religion, in my opinion, was one of the worst things to ever happen to us. It automatically builds walls between people who dont know each other. In most cases, if you dont believe in what someone else does, they judge you. The wall goes up cuz you are 'not right' in their eyes and views. I'm not saying all people do that. And most of which who do, don't do it on purpose. It just happens. Religion belongs in the Spirituality forum, not Support. I think i've talked enough about religion for one day and i hope this doesn't turn into some big debate where people pick sides.

i agree....and i think for the most part, people who visit these forums will generally have an open mind when it comes to religions...

but i also think that if someone feels that by sharing their religious beliefs they may be able to help somebody on here, more power to them. like i said, many people find comfort in a "god"...i think you may be over reacting a little bit... the comment made was in no way a sales pitch, just a generalized statement... the statement made no referance to which god(s), and i think that finding a connection with a higher being/force/power what have you, often helps people get over the feelings of being completly alone in this world

i dont think anyone will take offence to your being wiccan here, like i said we all seem to be fairly open minded about these topics...if it makes you feel any better, i like the idea behind wicca more so that any other religion out there, but thats just me.

Okay, I understand what you are saying, and i would not have been so .. 'harsh' i guess if that's what you want to call it if they would have actually given some advice instead of a statement.  There is nothing wrong with sharing a 'spiritual' experience or something of the sort.  If it was a 'godly' experience that may have helped Kussh, all the power to him.  But it wasn't.

You need a relationship with God to be truly content LiL_KusH.

In my opinion, if someone would have said that to me, i would look at is as tho i had no choice.  That's quite a statement.  Telling someone they won't be truly content until they give themselves to god.. What kind of advice is that?  This is the real world.  Sorry to break it to you all.  Nothing is going to take care of you in the physical world.  It's a harsh truth but a truth nonetheless.  The only way to make things better, is by being positive and doing something about it.  We can't all sit back and relax and let 'god' take care of us.

See.. this has always begun to be a lengthy debate. :frown: And i have a very good feeling that my views are going to piss off alot of people.. *sigh*

yes, hence my "Bah! " remark

i agree that in this sence it may have been a tad unappropiate, but to just generalize and say that all religion should stay out of this forum is going a bit overboard in my opinion....

this may be true, but if someone truley believes that someone or something is watching over them, it may have a positive psycosymatic responce...in that they may feel that some of the burden is off their shoulders, and may make it easier for them to face everyday life...

so what! lol, just add that to the list of people in OTD you already pissed off....still, i think you are over reacting a bit....

take a few deep breaths, and sleep on it....if you havent noticed, the only two people here talking about this topic is us!

I agree. I have been a little on edge lately but that is because some incredibly stupid shit is going on and people are getting involved in situations where they dont belong.. Just because one person has some very serious issues and is taking the situation too far.. I have a new crowd of haters. Not that i really care if i'm liked or disliked, but it's just very annoying whenever i say anything or comment on something else, i have all these people jump down my throat.

I've been thinking alot lately if the board and the irc channel is really worth staying at. Every day i'm becoming more convinced that i should leave and put it all behind me. *sigh*

oh please....

do you hear what your saying? are you really gonna letting the actions of a few assholes get to you like that? i could never ever ever leave this place....not just this forum, but the shroomery as a whole (with the exception of OTD, i dont really hang around there too much) has hlped me in so many ways.... i have learned so much from the people here...

seriously, consider what you are saying....you have been a great help to many (including myself)

the shroomery would be losing a wonderful asset if you were to leave...
