I've been eating benzos regularly for a few years now.  Binge for a couple weeks, stop for a couple weeks.

Never had a single withdrawal symptom.

The only negative thing I have experienced is acting like a dumbass when I drink alcohol on them.

And feeling like :facepalm3: the next morning.

I'm glad a couple people were able to critically read the cited article which says that benzos MAY be having this effect. That's all it says.

Well damn. I've been on 6mg a day for twelve years. I lost my mind that long ago anyway. I'm forgetful and my mind gets scatterbrained enough already. It's better than being batshit insane and I don't anticipate living past 55 anyway.

We need a 6 year benzo double blind study.

And nicotine and weed may prevent Alzheimer's..
So if you do lots of benzos, the obvious solution is to vape like a maniac and smoke mad weed to cancel out the effects.

Actually, I think all you'd really need is a prospective study, as opposed to this retrospective one.  When you have relatively large sample size studies like this one (e.g., thousands of subjects), it's fairly easy to retrospectively correlate things like benzo use and Alzheimers. Given the near infinite number of variables present in humans, there are probably hundreds of things correlated with the development of Alzheimers.

The researchers acknowledge that the use of benzodiazepines could be just a signal that people are trying to cope with anxiety and sleep disruption—two common symptoms of early Alzheimer’s disease. If that’s true, their use of a benzodiazepine may not be a factor in causing dementia but an indication it is already in progress.

Knock yourselves out, freakshows.  Your brain is already fucked anyway.  Play with it while you still have it.
