    #20496017 - 08/29/14 11:50 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Willing to drive about 2 hours in any direction from Norfolk VA.

Anything out there?

I dont mind hiking in a mile or 2. As long as we don't see anyone period.

Go onto google maps and look for a big forest, old quarry or decent mountain range and just scout it out. All part of the fun I find.

In Ireland wild camping isn't even legal but if you head to the middle of a rural area there is no one to complain.

That's true.  I just dont want the cops rolling up on us since we will have a fire going. And parking seems to always be an issue

If your out in a big forest park somewhere with a small fire you generally won't be noticed.

You could always park the car somewhere out of the way and then walk an hour or so in 1 direction and camp out. When you're far enough out you'll rarely see cops.

The upper end of the Outer banks is pretty much the only option I can think of for you the Corolla area you might find an out of the way place.
That or I think it's called Sandbridge south of VA beach never been there but some friends told me it is secluded.
