OK so here's the deal I need to replace my Clipless pedals But I can't budge the old ones to get them unscrewed. (Yes I know how to do it but they have been on for some time) Anybody know of any tricks that will help me get them off? I've been spraying them every couple of hours with "PB Blaster" But they still won't break loose.

Im a bike mechanic, what usually works for me when that happens is flipping over the bike, and puttting the pedal wrench on at an angle to where you can stand on it.

I Do all my own work too but never seen anything so stubborn I'm afraid I'll crack the crank. How about heating it a bit with a torch? I don't want raped on the price by taking it to a shop. I just don't trust them not to over charge me thinkin I'm some kind of yuppie noob, Know what I mean?

when installing pedals never forget to use grease on the screw parts between edal and crank, will save you later on. also unscrew your pedals once a year for example. enjoy your new ones!

In this situation, i find it useful to flip the bike and position the wrench so that it is near parallel with the crank. Being able to use the compression strength of your hand, pulling the wrench closer to the crank has never failed me infact.
I agree though, always use a petroleum grease on your pedal spindles.
Another option would be to extend the length of wrench with a pipe, or use a longer wrench to get better mechanical advantage.
Either way, glad you got it sorted. Bike shops are usually reasonable about that sort of thing.

I went through this same shit the past few days.
The right pedal was easy as could be. Got a wrench, said the ol' "righty tighty lefty loosey" saying in my head and loosened it with ease.
The left petal on the other hand was a nightmare. 3 days in I decided to run a quick Google search: How to replace the pedals on a mountain bike.
It turns out pedals on the left side are reverse threaded!!!!

It's all good now though. I'm back to shredding trails.

I know the pedal thing my bike just sat outside for a few years due to my living circumstances. I.E. no room inside. Plus the guy at the shop had a helper to hold the crank opposite the side he was working on.
