over heating?

how can you tell if you have over heated mycelium in a pf jar?
and i thaught i was doing so well till now! :confused:

How hot do you think they got? It could be hard to tell short of obviously visible drying out.

they were around 95 for six hours, and they look a little blue, i'm worried. will they make it?

Thermal death occurs at 106. So, the myc's not dead, but it sounds like you may have dried them out a little. I don't have any experience w/ rehydrating cakes, but I'm sure someone else will know exactly what to do. Good luck.

They're probably OK. Thermal death is at 106F.

Realistically there is no risk, but it protects you and the people at the shroomery, just in case.
