lib caps? pics
    #2067999 - 11/03/03 12:53 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

here are some pics of some mushrooms i found in my yard around the base of a tree, i have seen pics on other sites of libs around trees.

also, spores are a very dark color, almost black, print is almost back.

they dont really bruise any color.

they ones that are out there dying are a dark black and very soft.

they smell like the other psychoactive mushrooms i have eaten, dunno if that matters. i have a feeling all mushrooms smell alike

those look like Coprinus micaceus.
black gills at maturity, eroded, deliquesent margin and habitat would agree.

are there fine granule like particals on the cap surfaces?
if so, this will confirm.
if not, it is another coprinus species.

they have very fine lines radiating out from the center

are the mushrooms you mentioned active? if this is not that type, is there possibility of these being active?

foirstly, those are called striations. this is normal for many mushrooms and is characteristic of the Coprinus genus, as is the pleated nature of them, sue to the verry thin flesh of the caps.

as far as activity, and the possibility thereof; no, and no.
these are not active and there are no active species in the Coprinus genus.

keep it up, you'll have a break if you are persistant .

out of curiosity, what area do you live in?

I agree with concretefeet...

Sorry dude! :frown:

You might want to check in some horse stables for Panaeouls subbalteatus.

Dude not only is the habitat 100% wrong, you're not even in the right state to find libs. Do some research and find what grows in your area as opposed to trying to find mushrooms that'll never grow there.
