Wow! It looks like the minecraft server communities are in shambles right now. All the server platforms have had DMCA take down notices. (it's all really messy and the future of the server and modding community is unclear at the moment) meaning that there isn't any server files to download atm unless you use third party sites to get them or went with the official vanilla minecraft server files from minecraft.net
However, it looks like "premade minecraft server" is showing results to get the files needed if you go non vanilla.

Anyone found any time to play on the server?
Shroomer420 linked me up with some Bukkit builds.
If you guys are interested, i can downgrade to 1.7.9 and install bukkit and some mods.
I was thinking that if we do this, then i can setup an auth system, grief protection, and then turn online mode off so everyone could play.
Idea?
I just dont have the time now to design/create this on my own.
If you guys want mods and whatnot, you need to tell me what you want.

That sounds great total I played a bit with shrshroomer 420 yesterday. I haven't played much since the last sever was down.
Those mods that shroomer talked about on the server all sound good.
Runs pretty smoothly I built on a small island to the north of spawn

Yea the 1.7.9 R02 is good as most of the needed plugins haven't updated past that, the R01 version is probably less stable. Or even something prior to 1.7.9 would be fine too.

1.8 was a huge update though.
I set up a pretty basic 1.8 server for some close buds, but I don't know about all these plugins for bukkit you guys are talking about so I don't have any real input there..

As of in 3 days I won't be living out of a van or tent and I'm gonna build new comp within a week as my old one that was in storage is dead... I'd be down to play some Minecraft again once thats in business! So I will see you guys in a week or two

I don't think that you should make the server reqard based.
I personally would be willing to donate just to help the cause.
If you put up a breakdown of your monthly costs, and some sort of chart to measure donations, I'm pretty sure we could cover them.
If the costs are too high I have some experience in the field and could offer some advice.

ahhh... i´m a minecraft fan but somehow i never thought about shroomery integration, that´s awesome!
you guys can create the virtual Shroomery Island, envisioned many a days past. i wish my computer didn´t suck so much ass and i could participate.
if you guys every get it going strong, someone should totally stream it on twitch! i´d watch to see all the shenanigans ensue
