first off: i have this strain called orissa india...can anyone tell me anything about it?
second: i made a birdseed "cake" and didn't sterilize it with a pressure cook, lol, i used alchohol swabs and the utmost clean hands.
i have growth in five days!! aparently the solution dripped all the way to the bottom, is this ok?

it's from india originally found growing on elephant dung. Supposed to be somewhat resistant to trich.
The WBS will probably not work if no pressure cooker was used but good luck. You should break up the birdseed "cake" with some verm to make a casing if you want reasonable yields.

if he meant that he floured birdseed and sterilized it via microwave or boiling water i believe it to be possible. I have a gallon bag of floured birdseed and vermiculite that i sterlized in the microwave.
Link
but without sterlization i highly doubt the growth of anything but green mold.... and lots of it. I had some jars of birdseed that contaminated even after being PCed.

i don't mean to make anger you or anything, but when you were a little kid, did you ever think you'd be using rabbit shit to make magic mushrooms? that's disgusting man. it really is.

funny rabbit shit is disgusting but cow and horse shit is not... wheres the logic in that. But then again u do mostlikely have some type of mold growing on that unsterlized substrate and yet ur still convinced ur growing mushrooms. The rabbit shit is actually completely dry when collect and mixed with a small amount of sand. and unlike with your technique i pasturize the poo so when the i eat anything i grow i can be sure i wont become ill from it. good luck with that grow of yours hope you dont poison anyone. in all seriousness his statement is funny does make a great sig tho!!!

im not pissed its funny i laughed sorry if i sounded harsh. i can be that way sometimes.
i just wanted to point out its not as gross as any other kinda shit. Its actually more managable small little balls of poo instead of big piles of yuck. no smell
plus i have no access to horse or cow manure. The shit is from my cousins rabbits they clean the cage and throw it on top of a sandy are to dry all i really have to do after its dry is scoop it up with a kitty litter scooper. Its free and best of all i know the rabbits arent eating anything that may hinder fungal growth
all that these rabbits eat are rabbit pellets which is compressed grains and such in reality it is no different from any kinda shit that a mushroom would grow off of...
But growing on unsterlized substrate is seriously risky, even if you dont have the cash to spend on a PC at least microwave the stuff or boil it. if you cant do this right you should prolly wait untill you can Even if no one eats these mushrooms or everything contaminates you are still puting urself at risk. nothings worse then having a grow contaminate and getting sick b/c of it.

alright, i understand.
theres no way for me to sterilize in a PC if anyones home, and belive me, someone's always home!
maybe i could try the microwave, but even that i'd have to bring downstairs or something.

Yeah doing this while you live with people or parents is tricky... My first grow i sterilized my stuff at my boyfriends moms house when his parents were out. His mom came home but she really didnt care to know what was going on. Just wanted to know what was making all that noise. Now my boyfriend and i have our own place and there is no need to worry about parents finding out. Best advice i can give you is wait till u live with people you dont have to worry about finding out or causing legal harm to. But something more along the lines of what you would like to be told is to find a buddy who is also interested in this and trustworthy and see if you can use their place.
