An Introduction With Visuals
    #2065257 - 11/02/03 04:03 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Hello ~

I just arrived and started looking about the place. My name is Aaron and I am an artist.
I thought I would put a sample of my work in here. Shrooms have affected many life facets
and my art is one of them. This first piece is called "Awakening" and is directly realated to
thoughts that were unlocked while tripping. Some of this stuff is older as I haven't done much lately.
I hope you enjoy what you see.

peace ~ A

Those are awesome.  I like the variety.

I really dig the clean look of the first one as well as the detail and perspective of the second.

That last one has a real proffesional look too it thats great.

Are  you a pro?  I'd be really interested in learning computer graphics but don't really know where to start.  I've read photoshop for dummies but I still really don't feel comfortable with the program.

:smile2: :smile2: :smile2:

edit: grammar

wow, amazing stuff man, WELCOME to the shroomery.
This place is gonna be overflowing with talent now

I love the kaleidescopic bubbles, and Maxx is tight too.
I can tell you love comic books, it shows a little in your style.
It looks like most of your stuff is hand-drawn, but what programs do you use for your digi art?

and thank you for inspiring me!

Welcome to the Shroomery, podwarrior.

that is extraordinary work.

i especially like the first one,
what tools did you use?

i see symbiosis / complementary duality,
between nature and technology?
nature is technology?

thanx for taking time to share...

Many thanks for all the kind words and positive vibes!
Here's a rundown of the pieces:
1. "Awakening" Drawn, inked, scanned and colored in Photoshop.  This is my one and only
piece of "visionary art" where I poured the distillation of my thoughts into an image to try and
get my vibe across in one shot.  No other piece has ever given me such pleasure to create and share.
Yes, the relationship between nature and technology is big with me.  Technology is nature that has passed through the human filter.

2. "The Greeper" Acrylic on illustration board.  30"x40"  It's me in my old threads from the 92' techno scene in LA.
3. "The Maxx" Acrylic on illustration board.  30"x40" It made the back cover of one of the issues.  16 I think.
4. "Minion" Drawn, inked, scanned and colored in Photoshop.  Appeared in "comic "more Than Mortal" issue 2.
5. "Pinata" Drawn, inked, scanned and colored in Photoshop.
6. "Dragonfly Scarab" Prisma pencils on colored Canson paper and glued into my sketchbook.
7. "Transportation" Pencil in sketchbook
8. "Lothlorien" Photoshop doodle using KPT 6 Gel and many many layers and adjustments.
9. " Creation" Same as 8.
10. "Solstice 2002"  Digital composite.  Photoshop, photography, vectors, 3D Studio Max.  I took care of all the elements.  It was for a mix cd a friend made.

I am an art pro.  I have colored comics, done graphic design,
been a freelance illustrator and worked in video games as a texture artist.  I have used Photoshop
just about every day for 9 years.  There's lots to learn about the program and the web is full of tutorials.
Working in it everyday under job-style pressure will get your skills up.

Here is digital collage I made last week for an online project called  Uncommon Creatures.

Thanks for the sweet welcome and be sure to check out my site.  Just click the banner below.
There's lots to see and hear so have fun exploring.

peace ~ A

I don't know art but I know what I like.
Awsome man. I love the yin yang in the first. It is like the single sentence that summs it up. I never thought of humans as the filter. I always imagined humans creating a technology filter between himself and nature.
Welcome.

Just looked at the site and it realy nice. And every link I clicked went to somethingelse that was awsome. Featured link, Square One (if I had a Mac), uncommon creatures were all cool.

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Thanks again for all the love, folks.

There are neural pathways in my head made by shroom micro biology that embed shroominess
into all my work. It doesn't have to BE a mushroom does it? Well, ok. Maybe just this one.
There are shrooms in two of the first pieces I posted as well.

This is my little hongero. I sketched and colored this in 99'. He hangs around
licking his own cap all day. It's not "finished" but it's done.
