Nice!

Canon PowerShot SX510 HS Costco special...
It's not very good but all we could afford at the time.

My hands are really shaky so the pictures turn out kind blurry most of the time.

Cool, I was trying to decide which camera to buy for my brother to get started with and I've narrowed it down to the Canon Powershot series. Overall, how do you like yours?

I do like it, The battery life is short so he'll probably need a second battery but you can one from ebay or amazon for around $10.
It's not a bad camera but I'd really like a DSLR

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I have a DSLR I use the majority of the time, absolutely love it. The only issue I have with it is that it's too bulky to bring with me to my job, which is where I find the coolest mushrooms. That's another reason I wanted to get a camera for him...so I can borrow it!

If I take 5 pictures of everything I normally get 1 that turns out less blurry.
Thanks for the kind words everyone :bliss:

nice MJK
The bolete is also nice, if you get a little tripod that would help a lot, that costco special looks good!!

I have and use a little Gorilla-grip tripod...
It would be helpful if they sold a remote shutter for the camera, when I push the button down sometimes it shakes the camera- specially when focusing up really close.

Try the self-timer. I still use that for all my shots, even on a sturdy tripod.

Thanks guy :bliss:

We/I ate it already, it was pretty good.
I've noticed I like the texture better if I cut them transversely over longitudinal, the fibers seem to run up and down the stem so if I cut them lengthwise they seem kinda gummy and chewy. They smell great while they're cooking.
I would give them a 6.5/10 on the mushroom scale. Nothing trumps Hericium

If you ever get the chance try cooking them in bacon grease. I cooked my oysters in jowl bacon grease on Sunday and they were the most tender and delicious oysters I have ever had. The texture was perfect.

Agaricus augustus

I spent most of the afternoon in the park looking for Agaricus and couldn't find a thing and on my drive back home I spotted this beautiful cluster out of the corner of my eye.
I knocked on the door (which always makes me nervous) and asked the homeowner if it was alright with her if I photographed and picked a few of these.
I apologize for the cell phone picture, my camera battery died at the park taking pictures of nothing too interesting...

Does anyone know if these dehydrate well? I don't think I will be able to eat them all before they start to go bad.
These mushrooms are absolutely delicious by the way, 7.5/10 even my 3 year old will eat them and she's very picky.

They should dehydrate fine in a dehydrator after first cutting them up into nice looking slices.
