I made this a post a while ago about a contaminated jar.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20566523
Instead of throwing it out I put some of the colonized grain on cardboard. The mycellium is beautiful and thick looking. Its just the grains that were colonized and a small section of cardboard. I was wondering if I could get a couple fruits of this even if small would it work? heres some pics

I should be able to open the lid and put it in a little fc right?

Its worth a shot. Your guess is as good as mine. Probably wont work though. Cardboard is for woodloving outdoor species. Not cubensis.
EDIT - Definitely wont work. That culture, although it looks healthy, is probably crawling with bacteria, and even if you get a few fruits, they will likely make you sick.

Ill say this after reading your old post. Quit experimenting and follow PF Tek exactly. After you get a few successful grows under your belt, consider moving to a grain/bulk system. After mastering that, go ahead and experiment. No need to waste your time and money developing bad habits..

I got the idea from this post http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/3255590
I dont think the mushrooms will be dangerous because even though there are many bacteria spores the mycellium has colonized and there is no visible bacteria growth. Even if it isn't safe to consume I could still get some prints. PF tek is the way to go I know but I just wanted to try this. Pf tek works well I just want to expirement i guess I dont think its a "bad habit". For growing in sterile conditions then yes it is a bad habit just thought it would be cool to use cardboard since its so easy but maybe its too good to be true?

Try it out. Post pics if it works. I'd believe it more if that guy had a photo

fruits growing off a contaminated sub can still be eaten as long as the contam hasn't spread onto it, which is probably unlikely it will.
