PC question and WBS tek question
    #20624849 - 09/27/14 09:06 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Has anyone used this particular PC before http://www.amazon.ca/Big-Boss-8640-Stainless-Pressure/dp/B0092YSRVY

Q1: It doesn't have pressure settings from what I can see but if anyone has used this model before and could you kindly tell me what setting would be best for effectively pasteurizing a WBS substrate.

Q2: is polyfill a must for WBS prepping in jars? Like can I use the four hole lid style of the pf tek? or even perhaps a dry verm layer with that PF-tek lid style? Just trying to save another trip to the store if possible.

I would never suggest a digital pressure cooker those things are pretty bogus. get one with a weight or a toggle made out of steel or aluminum

like a presto, mirromatic, all american etc.. nothing you'll find at target.

when working with grain you cannot use a PF jar lid because you can't do a dry verm barrier. you need a filtered gas exchange port like tyvek polyfill or a synthetic filter disk.
