OK, lets hear some stories of recipes that have gone horribly, traumatically wrong.

The worst I've ever done was when I was baking a victoria sponge when stoned. Very stoned. I basically doubled the quantity of sugar (needless to say, accidently), so when I put it in the oven the thing was virtually volcanic, and spewed molten cake stuff all over the oven. I guess it must have at least tripled in volume. Sugar does that, apparently... well I wasn't even watching so when I came back it had firmly baked and hardened onto the oven. It took a lot of Mr Muscle and time to get it clean. Obviously the cake was inedible. SO much for the munchies  :blush: :confused: :mad: :shocked: :stoned: :lol: :lol: :lol:

that last time i tried to make scones[sp?] from memory,m they durned out to be burnt cookies :frown:
i've made a lot of really terrible things when cooking, stoned or sober :laugh:.

I once made spaghetti and used dill as an herb...

I was inexperienced and just threw in any herb that was green..

Lets just say that dill is only good on fish.

hard to explain how dill taste like...it has a unique taste...

there are two types of dill ppl use here, one for crawfish and one for fish...

the dill u use for fish looks like the regular dill you can buy at the supermarket..the one that u use for crawfish looks like tiny yellow flowers on a large branch. the flower dill is put into the pot when boiling crawfish and it gives it a buttery type of taste...actually quite nice

Accidently added thai basil to a big pot of homeade spaghetti sauce that I had spent all day on instead of sweet basil.

It was not a happy experience.

One time I made a huge pot of chili for a family function. I wanted to make HOT chili. So I took 10 dried habenero peppers crushed them into a very fine powder and added it to the chili.
Long story short anyone, including me, who tried a bowl of my chili took one spoonful and said fuck this.

HaHa, 10 habaneros!  That must've been quite the HOT chili :grin:  I recently ate a portion of a fresh habanero for the first time and it set my mouth on fire.

lol I thought I made such a big pot of chili that it wouldn't be so hot and dilute the peppers. Turns out I ruined one Big pot of chili.

I had spent my last dollar on a meal for the missus a while back and it ended up ( Since I was inhebreated, tried to experiment with combining two very similar recipes) very salty...

Eggplant parmesean and eggplant cassorole..ehh...ah. I was starving for a WEEK!

zeta,

It looks like italian sweet basil, hell it even smells like it. But when you put it in food as it cooks it seems to have this bitter almost clovey/limey taste that comes out, and the sweetness turns into more of an essence then actual sweetness.
