First time Grow getting prepared

Hey everyone. I am ready to start my very first grow.
That being said I have researched into it and it seems like
sclerotia (mexicana) are my best bet for a easy first time.
As far as I can tell after I prep the jars and inoculate I just
have to wait for 2 months which is ideal for my first time.
So far here is what my list is for supplies:
Rye grass seed (really any grass seed) Some Gypsum Spore syringes Spores (duh) quarter jars (I dont know exactly how many I would need) Pressure Cooker (don't know which one to get) Polyfill lid
As far as I can tell that's all the equipment I will need. I would love some input on this and I'm exited to start. All hail Shroomery!

RGS is pretty pricy and has no real advantage over other grain for stone production. Were you going to flash prep the RGS? I hope you mean quart jars not quarter (pints). Everytime I tried to grow stones with spores I had issues getting full colonization so good luck on that front. They also take a long time compared to other species. But I love them so I wish you luck, stones are great.

violet said grass seed sucks for sclerotia
you might want to get a synthetic filter disc. then turn it into 8.
quart jars come in packs of 12.
you forgot a drill and 1/4" or 3/8" drill bit.

Two suggestions: First. Use rye grain, whole oats, wheat grain, or corn if you want to grow sclerotia. Grass seed would be a grain to use when one's intent is just to grow the mushroom, although it will produce some sclerotia.
Secondly. Alongside your first jars grow out at least a couple containers with ~1 cup of grain or grain/bulk mix. When it's colonized, lay on a casing layer inside and fruit the cake to get your following generations of spores.

Yup I just looked it up and that seems like the way to go, and I did mean quart jars. Was there a specific reason they wouldn't fully colonize for you?

I'll just poke holes into the lid with a screwdriver and a hammer. Is there a big difference between Synthetic filter lids and Tyvek?

Okay i'll probably just get rye grain then and i'll make sure to do that with the jars. Thanks for everyone's help I guess now all I need is the supplies and I can start growing.

Tyvek is kinda shitty, only good for one or two runs, needs to be doubled up, etc. Sime people have success with it but SFD or ez felt are superior IMO.
Spores are always a crapshoot. With something as finicky as sclerotia producers I would definitely want to use agar to a isolate faster genetics as well as myc that looks like a good stone producer (brownish myc is usually regarded as better stone producing genetics). You might get lucky with ms solution but I never did.

tyvek was not made with pressure cooking in mind.
It will hold under those temperatures, but it will slightly degrade with use.
Synthetic filter discs (Cellulose Acetate Disks) are made to be pressure cooked, and used for the purpose we intend. They are made in a varying amount of filtration sizes, you are looking for around .2 microns.
.2 microns is just a tad bit smaller than most common spores floating around in the air.

Okay well I searched around more and since this is my first grow I decided to opt for a pre-sterilized rye grass seed bag instead of making my own jars. It works out better this way so I won't have to explain to my roommate what I am doing. and I'm going to go with Psilocybe galindoi (ATL #7) unless someone recommends a better strain this seems to be the best one for a good stealth/neglect grow Thanks for your help guys and once I see how this grow bag turns out I'll probably then move on to preparing my own jars. On a side note does anyone know how much a 2 pound bag like this could give yield wise?
