It colonized the bottom half of the cake and after about 10 days a fruit popped up! Fan and mist fan and mist then boom there EVERYWHERE! there lifting my damn cake off the foil lol! How do they look? I can count 24 brown lil caps some small some decent...

Is that green areas on that cake or bruising? Looks a little like trich in that pic to me.

It's blue from bruising! It got bruised in the jar I tried to shake it and break up the sub and help it colonize( that didn't work). I thought it would heal from it but never did.

If yer sure. . .
You can rig up all kinds of stuff to fruit with, its just usually not optimal. But cubes are weeds so you can half ass conditions and still see fruits. As you just discovered.

Take a Q tip and dip it in some peroxide or rubbing alcohol and rub them areas, the q tip should stay clean if its bruising and turn green if its trich. Looks like trich, trich is on the surface and bruising is more like an ink stain.

Will do pin porn! I doubt it's trich, I've watched this cake like a hawk! Trich would grow and spread and be an actual layer, this looks like you took food coloring and dropped droplets Onto it and it's absorbed (kinda like u said ink) and it happened the same day I shook it which was about 2 weeks ago before it ever went into fruiting. If it was trich man it would be everywhere

Nope, blue bruising will come off and many strains can bruise blue green yielding a false positive. I have blue stains on my counter from a time when I dumped a load of freshly harvested and deeply bluing fruits on it. Trich looks dusty/powdery.

Yes I found out that half assing and weasel fucking can still produce fruits... Just the same goes for the new guy who follows everything ppl tell him to do yet he has No fruits? Do it, don't do it- Point is don't be a pussy fart and take a risk it might pay off. Now for the seasoned mycologists no you don't take risks or try petty shit like this! If I had 5 tubs going or a Martha I wouldn't waste my time??? But I don't so I did and once these veils break you won't hear from me for a week :-)

Shit man I wasn't bustin yer balls, just making a quick point. I would have done what you did in that situation. I do shit like that all the time. But its important to point out that these are not recommended measures in the interest of good info.
Some stuff I never recommend

No offense taken :-). It's extremely important for anyone reading this to fully understand you only do it in certain cases! I understood that from the get go! I researched it extensively before I made the decision. The light bulb really went off when I read somewhere about "how sterile is the cow shit the adventurer picks from" or "How much bacteria does a fart produce" lol once I thought in those terms I really got an understanding of how much bacteria and mold spores we have I'm our daily lives... I can also use that knowledge to combat those germs! I know what temps they like what food they like, whether there air borne and etc.... I've still got lots to learn but I'm enjoying the ride, and that's what it's really all about

Just know that your average cubic foot of air in an average house has about 200,000-500,000 contams floating in it and yer good

Really!? I'm keeping a close eye on the veil, just wait till it breaks? Will they stay short and dense considering there's not much substrate? Can I expect another flush?

Dang Mr. whyte you were spot on mate!! The veils are all tearing this morning :-). Couple questions tho! There are some tiny tiny pin heads some look like there just a pin head ready to start, do I take even the smallest barely even freakin visible ones too? Do I dunk it for 24 hours and give it another dry layer of verm? Thanks

Just take the ones that are ready. Some of the others will still mature and grow so leave em to do their thing
You can and should dunk again but do not roll, the roll is only done once.

I'd say some of those are ready to go right meow, though I've always been one who like to get them right when the veil tears. Congrats on your first (I'm assuming) fruits!

if the contam gets out of control throw it outside in some horse poo. contams cant keep up outside. should do it immediately after discovering any contam IMO.

Yes sir I agree! I now believe I didn't have a contam, I had terrible GE and once I removed the filters from my other jars they exploded with growth.
