Rose said: Oregon has some great laws for folks like me.
What Silversoul said is true though. The gay community is often adversarial towards trans, and there is a sub group of the lesbian feminist community that is full of hate. The OP has actually quoted a few of these trans exclusding rad fems (TERFs) in recent posts.
Some of them hate, as you put it--I'd say Bug Brennan is a little obsessed with FtM trans--but I have seen many educated opinions that aren't hate, are fully rational, and make perfect sense, especially if you're a feminist who believes that gender is a social construct (which I do not, but then again I argue from the other side of the coin).
Quote:
Much of it is miscommunication. Many gay men just do not understand why trans folk, especially trans women are SO easily offended, and they try to butch us up with insults, not realizing how suicide prone we can be. TERFs have often been sexually abused, and want nothing to do with anything remotely male.
Rather misandrist, don't you think?
Quote:
But you are correct, much if not most of the LGBT community is extremely supportive of trans folk.
Depends on which gay community, really.

I think that it is very possible to have a female mindset and a male body or vice versa, a male gay mindset but a female body and so on, combine as you wish.
Both the biological and psychological is part of an evolutionary process that has been ongoing for some time.
Then who is to say that this process dictated by minuscule chemical interactions is faulty? In cases of real disability (like a person not being able to walk) there is warrant for correction.
But why do we think that just because you don't think like everyone else or view yourself in the same way as others requires correction? How can you think you where created wrongly if there is no actual disability?
EDIT: Simply, the logical fallacy here is the assumption that there is such a thing as a wrong gender.
Also if i remember my mushrooms correctly they can have up to four different chromosome pairings.
