I'd love to use hpoo, but there aren't many horses around me. Collecting it is a bitch too.

These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.

Ah. You guys and your coir. Hpoo is where it's at. I can prep enough poo for 8 tubs in a day and still work a full day. Get it together and realize hpoo is gold in comparison and doesn't take that much more time than bucketed coir

If I had a source of horse manure within the city I would use it ALL of the time Azur, you're not lieing about it, I can vouch for that.

Hpoo+straw = F.A.N (Fuck-all-noobs)

I'm very lucky my mom has horses. She does live 5 hours from me, but i take my children to visit her for the weekend and get a free mini vacation, minus gas.
I take a bunch of tubs and find scores of poo that's been heavily rained on so gathering is easy and no grinding necessary.

Just a pain to come across in the city without having to field a lot of questions. Even then u gotta drive 25 min to an hour where I can get some coir from the pet store and be home in 10 min. I'm loving diverse substrates right now, poo, straw, worm castings are fun and I love how the sub looks with em. But lets just say a person is just looking to test something or just needs a guaranteed print or has a lot of sub to prep and little time, then coir is great.

Hpoo is boss but I have had a lot of success with coir. I will say that for best results good culturing practices are important but once you have those its easy to just roll with it.

Coir is also great to buff up subs for woodlovers. My reishi love it as do enoki. I grew oysters on straight coir. Its easy to obtain, store and prep, and is quite versatile.

I am going to go back to sterilizing my coir. Without question I get stronger,  faster colonization and it seems yields are improved with sterilized coir. You should try it azur, you might be surprised

Hydrate load in jars and PC for an hour usually does the trick. It should be dark when it comes out almost black. Both tubs in my sig were sterilized coir verm cased with sterilized coir verm.
