Spore Production

Is there any research done on mushrooms producing spores. Thia might sound silly but. I have mushrooms not sporelate in the past. im talking flush after flush and nothing. I am an experienced cultivator inside and outside.
Penis envys hardly produce spores at all. I hear that the second and third flush starts to produce spores but i have yet to collect a good print.
Now from trying to look at it from the stand point of survival. Do you think that if a mushroom has such perfect conditions they wont feel a need for survival so they might not produce any? But if thats true the ones that fruit on agar in a petri dish you would think shouldn't produce spores but then again thats a sterile food source and isn't getting the proper air exchange therefore sporelating to preserve itself. bringing me back to the ones that dont produce when conditions are so perfect that they dont feel the need to survive.
is this making sense? i am not the best at typing this shit.

it's just a genetic crapshoot and much like us, some don't have what it takes

If i took a tissue sample from one that does not produce spores and put it on agar am i saving it as a non producer. Say i want a to have something no one else has and want to keep it that way would this be the direction towards that.

more then likely, i dont' know of any enviromental factors in your situation that may have caused it so genetics would be my guess\

yep it sure would be but i would do at least a few plates because your gonna have to keep going back to them to keep everything nice and vigorous

I am able to start really playing with genetics and i have some amazing tools at my disposal to get a close look and even poke around. The university by my house has a very under utilized lab so i am going to start some playing around to see if i can create some mutants of some kind. hence the the reasoning behind these awkward questions.

Hi Funglejungle, you need to obtain a single spore from the non-sporulating specimen before you could "cross" it with another p.cube .
Check out Workman's "Penis Envy Albino" write up, he isolated out single spores from a PE sample and A+ albino and than used snake venom to destabilize the cellular structure so that when recovered they swapped genetic information of the Albino variety.
Absolutely brilliant "PROFESSIONAL" mycologist.
