A bit confused with bulk .
    #20613259 - 09/24/14 06:56 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

So i plan on doing a bulk with rye and coir . I have a tub already growing cakes and i wanted to know if i could use it. I wanted to colonize the coir in a 12q tub with tinfoil over top. The tub has a few holes on each side now because i wasnt getting enough FAE with just the airpump i had going into it.

I like to plan out grow before hand . Any thoughts?

The tub in the picture is the fruiting chamber which i plan to put the 12q into with some perlite at the bottom.

I would consider doing a monotub. Set and forget.

could you show me a good one? I have seen the ones with polyfil in the holes but wouldnt that cause bad FAE?

Follow a mono tub tek. They work wonders. Very easy.

Top holes are stuffed very loosely. Exchange of air is easy.  Bottom holes are stuffed a little tighter.  FAE is more than adequate.  Especially with a fan running in the room (though not strictly speaking necessary)

The design itself allows for constant fresh air.

Polyfill is your friend.

I would follow a TEK they've worked for hundreds of people reliably and with good results. They're around and supported for a reason. The first link in my signature has spawning to bulk and monotub fruiting outlined with relevant links to super easy to follow guides. It's more than half way down the page says "after the PF tek"

Take the foil off of your jars and get them out of the tub. No need for incubation, unless your place is unusually cold.

That tub looks a lot bigger than 12 quarts...

Check this out...along with Franks that was linked up there ^^ http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20356759#20356759

Yeah you should really turn that clear tub into a mono. Best growing decision you wil ever make.
