Green Mold Everywhere!

History: I decided to do PF Tek, 12jars.
No PC, just steamed and inoculated them with MS syringe in open air.
12 jars all successfully consolidated and birthed to SGFC, grew about 3-4pz dry, not a single contamination.
Yay! Celebration!
I attempted to print the fruits to tin foil and create my own syringes.
Attempted PK Tek again and mold outbreak in every single one.... Pitched the cakes, kept the jars. Waged them by hand and put them away. A month later it seems like I'm getting mold growth in places around my house that I never did before. My brew pots and stand was covered in spots where wort was spilled and rinsed (not "cleaned").
I've been brewing for years and Never saw anything like this... Did my attempt to grow the second batch invite some bad nasties into my house?!?

Did you open the contaminated jars without sterilizing them? Did you open them inside your home?

Maybe try taking the next print inside a sealed jar, opened only in a SAB?

Yes, unfortunately, I did!

I have no intentions on growing any more, just looking to rid myself if I brought a mold monster in!

My fear is that I cultivated MORE mold by attempting the second grow, and now it's over running my home.

There are a whole series of things you can do to combat it, probably no panacea. A lot of nooks and crannies for it to hide in, but, if you can keep your humidity down, keep sanitation up to prevent outbreaks, and maybe run a HEPA filter to keep the airbourne spore counts lower? Heh, I think most houses are very well-colonised by spores anyway.

I'm not sure what you're worried about. If you mean mold growing in your house that could only happen if the conditions in your house allowed it (wet materials or high humidity)
If you mean the spores that have been released they only remain in the air for less than an hour. Although they tend to collect in the dust and dust can become airborne fairly easy it can also be removed fairly easy through normal cleaning.

Do as I recently did. Sweep, Mop, wipe down everything and or lysol it if its a non porous surface. Literally mop your walls if you have a glossy finish and run a hepa to catch some of the crap you stir up while cleaning.
You won't get everything but it will reduce your spore load if you're that concerned about it.

you don't need to be concerned about it, open a window and boom your spore load goes up, take off your shoes boom your spore load goes up, proper technique will save you.

So once I clean up and clear out this load of infection I should be good, eh?
Winter is coming up here, I couldn't be so lucky as to assume the cold will clear this up without major cleaning?

spores are viable for years. the cold won't do anything. if you want to grow again build a still air box and don't worry about it. you can use a still air box in a moldy bathroom if you want I wouldn't suggest it but it will work it's in the principle of the design and the skill of your hands.

I wonder why nothing in my place ever gets mold. I keep the door open a lot. My guess is that since it's a small place with central air it gets circulated quickly and most of the shit gets trapped in the filter. Me and my GF aren't slobs but we're not obsessive over cleanliness either. I did expose an agar plate to open air today to see what is actually in my place. I'm interested.

Do a good cleaning. Don't have to be sterile. Being clean gives you a good head start.
As far as getting rid of contam'ed jars. Put them in bleach water( I also use antibacterial dish soap ) and open them underwater. I let them set 30 min.
It took me 3 tries before I got shrooms growing.

You don't get mold all over your house because your whole house isn't damp and warm like a bathroom. It's like slinging mushroom spores or mycelium around your home and being surprised that it doesn't grow.

I have no plans for future grows. I successfully grew a lot the first time and only tried a second grow because I had excess verm/brf.
What about these companies who claim to get rid of mold in your home? Does anyone have any actual experience with using them?

I used to do that, but it was kind of a pain in the ass and messy, especially when your doing 12 -24 jars in a 20 qt cooler. It did satisfy my concerns though, but now i just pc for 60 mins, then dump outside making sure not to open the jars within my house.

Why not didnt you enjoy it?
And i wouldn't waste your money on that man, im sure they do a good job but the mold will come back and its entirely unnecessary unless its for health reasons.
