Ok i just got five 5 gallon buckets full of horse manure, straw/hay and woodchip looking barn bedding material from my neighbor,it was all composting in a huge pile, when i was shoveling it out of the pile it was steaming. Now that ive got it im not sure what to do with it, initially i was just gonna throw it in my backyard and see if pan cincs pop up next spring, but ive been thinking and im in the process of doing my first BRF tek grow of p.cubensis, 6 of my jars just fully colonized 100% this morning and now their in the process of consolidation, and i got 4 others that i waited a week to inoculate so they are maybe 30% colonized. sorry for the long post guys. Im asking for any opinions, suggestions, or ideas with what sorts of things i can do with what im working with or what the best option would be, thanks.

you want the stuff from the field not the barn, field aged manure is best for cultivation not the composted piled up stuff with alot of woodchips in it, take the chunks and toss them in your yard for later use, i've had pans pop up from them simply leaving the bucket in my house for a week

so why did you toss it in with the woodchip bedding , you don't want the woodchip bedding in there it is usually cedar

cubes don't like wood, and if the "compost" was steaming it's not done composting and is useless at the moment.

It's probably more trouble than it's worth, but you could pick the larger pieces of wood out, then compost it the rest of the way.

... But if it's already started to compost, it would continue to compost if he used it right away. His spawn would get cooked, right?

cubensis are composters and primary decomposers so yes it would in theory still be copmposting but done the right way

their are no large pieces of wood its almost dirt like mixed with straw and manure i had 5 5 gallon buckets i just dumped them all back toghether in a wheel barrow. when i shoveled them out of the guys pile it was steeming but they have all cooled off i guess since they were in individual buckets but now that their back in a pile maybe they will start composting again? i gonna put my first 6 cakes that are consolidating right now in the SGFC i built and just do that, and most likely do the same with the other 4 jars that are about 30% colonized, and with the manure/compost i guess ill just leave it in a pile and hope to get some pan cincs....
